6. I suppose it wouldn't help to go into a long bit about the wall between advertising and editorial? |
|
I dunno about radio, but as far as the publication I work at, I don't even know what ads will be in the paper until it hits the racks.

A couple of weeks ago (here in PHX) there was a 2 or 3 hr program on a Sunday afternoon, in which the moderator (someone in the Paul campaign, I forget his name) went on and on about Paul and his campaign, and how it's changing America, etc, etc. It was like an infomercial. I guess Paul has the green light from Nova M, or at least he's throwing a lot of money their way.

17. Ron Paul has some positions I like but |
|
his 1. religious fundamentalism 2. neo-confederate historical revisionism and racist views 3. zany economic ideas 4. disdain for the 1st and 14th amendments
disqualifies him as my guy

18. Would Ron Paul win the Presidency against any of the Dems? |
|
I doubt it. Probably he would lose in a landslide against Biden, Clinton, Dodd, Edwards, Kucinich, or Obama.
This might be a very interesting gamble. Liberals and progressives pick both the Democratic and Republican nominee for President, then turn out overwhelmingly for the Democrat on election day.
And if recovering or dissatisfied Republicans start throwing their money to Paul instead of Mittens or Huckle or McCain... well, that's a good thing too. A divisive Republican primary fight is a good thing.

26. I heard it , it does not help to tell people to register republican |
|
Plus all the adds that sell some rip off way to get rich where someone is telling you it's free for shipping cost only .
If people are asleep and unaware these adds work and only add to the damage . I suppose they have to take adds if someone buys airtime , they really don't have control .

It looks like the Democratic Candidate is going to be Clinton, Obama or Edwards. There are other great choices (Biden, Dodd), but those are the likely nominees. I'm pulling for Edwards and I really don't want Clinton. Ultimately, any of the Democratic candidates (even Gravel) would be fine with me compared to any active Republican.
I'd much rather choose the Republican candidate. And what BETTER Republican candidate would you rather run against?
Do you really want to run against "America's Mayor" on the off chance that that bullshit sticks? Do you really want to run against Model-Pretty and Model-Stupid Mitt Romney — if it's going to be a beauty contest I'd rather have Edwards running against someone less good looking. Do you REALLY want to run against Aw-shucks-charming Mike "I'm with Jesus" Hucklberry on the off chance that Americans vote for the guy with no brains who "goes with his gut" A THIRD TIME?!
Ron Paul has his good points, but all of them are lost on the Republican base. Ron Paul is not a racist (I know this personally so don't bother linking to the talking points on this), but has managed to convince everyone — even the fucking Freepers — that he is a racist. Every time Ron Paul opens his mouth these days he manages to look like a bigger and bigger loony. Dennis Kucinich could claim that he owns his own UFO and he still wouldn't out-loony Paul.
Dudes: register Republican and vote for Paul in the primary. It's the best thing you could do for your country.

My Dem choice has no chance, so what the heck, better to run against Paul the nutjob than McCain the war hero.

federal election law is clear...accept advertising from all or from no federal candidates. these are public airwaves that need to play by the rules.

Just one-liners saying they must comply with federal election rules (I say that's BS), and they must be "fair". NOW THAT'S EVEN MORE B.S. !!!!
