2. I can see it; both rethugs and vets. Maybe their differing opinions
on the war caused a rift, or McCain's wiggly stance on anything/everything has contributed to Hagel's disillusionment.

At this point, I'm liking Hagel a helluva lot more than Mr. Weathervane McCain.

4. You gotta wonder how McCaine is going to feel after he loses
the election. He sold his soul to people who claimed he was mentally unstable, who claimed his adopted child was "illegitimate". He's obviously saying anything he thinks might win him the presidency. I wonder how he will feel after he doesn't get the office he so desperately seeks.

7. I predict he bows out long before the primaries, once his
numbers, which are sinking, wind up in the toilet. What would be the point?
So he's sold his soul for nothing.

10. I'm a guy that signed up for the Republican Party back when
they swore up and down that what they were all about was a balanced budget and a limited Federal Government. Boy was I a gullible fool or what? Like President Cocksucker so eloquently put it "fool me once...ah, uh", right? I'll never trust that party again. Anyway, 6 years ago I was a big McCaine supporter. He had a little dignity back then and seemed to be trying to hold the Repderasts to the now defunct "Contract With America". Now I think the Christo-Fascist wing of the Party must have his wife and kids held in a remote location, in tiger cages with guns to their heads or something.

I've never seen anything like this! Hasn't this lunkhead learned anything from the last six years? I damn sure know I have and he can bet that a candidate that doesn't solidly represent the Libertarian wing of this wounded bird of a political party doesn't stand a snowball's chance of getting my vote in the primaries. The man must be in a total vacuum or something. It's like he's totally disconnected from the rest of the world! It's like he's...dare I say it, Bush!!!! It's friggin' scary. I honestly used to have a little respect for this man as a fellow vet. Now I can only look at him as just another lizard-like politician. Your loss, John, you pussy schmuck. Just when this country really needed heroes you fold like a whipped pup.

12. godless, welcome to DU! Good post.
I too, once upon a time, had respect for McCain, but no more. I don't know about the Libertarian wing as I don't care what the rethugs call themselves, but someone who switches 'opinions' at the drop of a hat to garner votes will never do it for me. I can understand changing your mind with more facts, but it's patently obviously McCain is trying to appeal to people with his swaying on a host of issues, and it isn't working. You'd think his opinions, at his age and with his experience, would already be formed, for better or for worse.
If you haven't seen this thread, it's worth a look:
