As usual, we had a good response to our call for moderators, and it was extremely difficult to narrow the field down. We had to turn down a number of very qualified people. We hope that everyone who applied to serve as a moderator this turn will consider applying again next term.

A moderator switch is always a little chaotic, so I want to apologize in advance for any problems that may arise over the next few days. Thank you for your understanding.

15. It's just one woman's opinion, but ...

... departing MODS should immediately be appointed as US diplomats.

The fact that they keep this website running smoothly, are able to settle disputes within seconds, and have the capacity to keep their sanity (when all of those about them -- meaning we posters -- are losing theirs) more than qualifies them to bring some common sense to the world's squabbles and deal with them accordingly.

Welcome to the new MODS, and a heartfelt thanks to the departing MODS, who SHOULD be going on to jobs at the UN ...
