Once again, bring out a de facto gun ban and dress it as the hyperbolic "Law Enforcement Protection Act"...let's see if that captures the fence-sitting, middle-American electorate this time around.

If the Congressional leadership is smart, this bill will get buried quickly. One of the reasons why the Democrats lost Congress back in 94 was because of idiotic gun control.

I, for one, would like to have some weapons if * declares himself dictator. That's why we have a Second Amendment. Not for hunting, not for defense against low-level criminals, but the last ditch defense against government gone bad. And boy is it really close to going bad.

I'm with you on the need for the Second Amendment. It's the one possibility that I hope we never have to confront, but then again, there's a good reason that it doesn't read "A well-regulated hunting lodge, being necessary to the conservation of a free state, the right of the hunters and sportsmen to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
