No matter who the President is, we must stem the growth of power of the Executive Branch
We don't need a President who will carry on about "Judicial Tyranny" and then increase his or her own power behind the scenes.

We need a President who will remember that his powers and privileges come from the Constitution and the mandate of the Voters, not from Pat Robertson, not from campaign donors, not from advisers that tell him he can do whatever he wants, and not because he's at war.

No more signing statements, executive privilege, unitary executive. We need a President who remembers that he or she shares the reins of government with two other branches.

Because of this, we can't forget about the Legislative Branch in the upcoming election this year. We can improve our numbers in the House and having a veto proof Senate is a possibility. And I think that's something we should work for.

Sometimes we ask Bush Supporters if they want a Democratic President to have the same powers Bush has given himself. I think we should just take the high road and work to end those increased powers.

3. Several candidates have pledged to not do any signing statements
Richardson is one.

There's also an element of psychology behind this I think. Any candidate who talks about an "out of control Judiciary" will probably increase his own powers as President, it's all projection when they say that IMHO.
