3. Yes? I just found out his wife and daughter were killed in an auto accident. |
|
That was back in 1972.
How horrible!

I have 2 signed copies. I had 4 but used them for Silent Auction items at our fundraisers.

I wish he were a more-likely-to-win kind of candidate.
But I'm afraid he's in the "also ran" category with Richardson and Kuchinich. Sadly.

11. Wow. I didn't know about that. You've got to admire him for what he's been through. |

Also, Joe Biden stuttered until he got to high school. That's remarkable, because I find his speeches very interesting and his manner very personal. Except over the weekend, when he kept saying "Ladies and gentlemen..." to his Iowa audience.
I don't like to discuss this because it sounds weird, but I'm not sure I want John Edwards for president. That's just because he will surely lose his wife in time, and a widower with three children would have to go through immense emotional trauma.
Please don't flame me. It's just my opinion. If Edwards is the Democratic candidate, I'll vote for him despite my negative feelings.
I married a young widower with three kids in 1972. He was very affected by the loss of his wife for years, and he didn't have presidential responsibilities.

13. I understand what you're saying |

and quite honestly, I've thought the same thing. I can't begin to imagine what he'd go through if he lost Elizabeth.

7. I am also hoping that other Iowans... |
|
can see that he should be the candidate. I don't think that a lot of the voters have been paying attention they are listening to the media and I am screaming at the television a lot these past few days. I saw him on cspan along with the rest of the candidates and he by far is the best person to take on the CONS...

14. I would be relieved to have Biden as President.... |
|
He is stable, experienced, knows the issues and the players (especially in Foreign Policy), is very intelligent, but also has "street smarts." Comes from a modest background, has managed to balance both his family and public service and has been through tragedy that has clearly left him with the ability to personally connect with people. When I watched him on C-Span, especially visiting with his supporters, I saw a "mensch."
He would mop the floor with any of the Rethugs during a debate. And he'd be wise to the Rethugs tricks. He'd never be accused of being "stiff" like Kerry.
I don't know, or particularly care, if he's perfect. I AM sure that he could step right into the job and start repairing the mess left by 8 years of BushCo.
