.... he voted for Kweisi Mfume against Ben Cardin in the last Maryland Senatorial primary? I heard him make that statement directly to Mfume on the day after the primary. Maryland requires party registration to vote in the primaries. And now he says he's an Independent?

I have noticed several dyed-in-the-wool, repug family members and friends are now calling themselves "Independents". I think it's a mental condition. They still spew repug talking points, still hate Dems, and still believe bushie isn't all that bad. I think it's a way they can distance themselves from a bunch that, subconsciously, they know is evil. It's rats leaving a sinking ship, but the rats are carrying a lot of the garbage off the ship with them.
