Steve Jobs & Rush Limbaugh agree
Steve Jobs & Rush Limbaugh agree: U.S. public schools are ‘unionized in the worst possible way’

Yes, it will be a cold day in hell when I buy an Apple. I'm very proud to have been a teacher in a unionized state. The result otherwise would have been a building full of ass kissers.

I'm so tired of the "run schools like a business" line.

Here's my suggestion: Let the damn teachers teach. Get rid of those dreadful tests that principals insist teachers "get the students ready" for. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

1. Then keep buying republican Microsoft crap
Jobs leans democratic and has Al Gore on his board. Democrats don't agree on everything. Clinton and Gore sold us out with NAFTA and GATT. Does that mean I should vote republican in 2008?

5. Ask the OP. I didn't start this.
The OP brought politics into operating systems and computers simply because of Job's opinion on teachers. From everything I've heard, Gates is a fucking repuke.

6. Or use Linux
The world is not limited to Mac or Windows, you know.

10. I don't care much for either Gates or Jobs...
Jobs I have a little more respect for the company he heads and the products they make (I also have a Mac at home)... But he isn't without his flaws. In addition to him being a personal jerk (if you saw that TV movie on him and Gates, you'd know what I mean), he also has quite a bit of clout being on Disney's board too, but didn't do much to stop that "Path to 9/11" film from showing through ABC then either.

I also don't like the way he had Apple treat my company behind the scenes when he partnered with them. If Apple were in a monopoly position like Microsoft is now, you'd also be crying a bit about some of their practices too. That being said, I still like Apple's OS a lot better than Microsoft's, and Microsoft's attitude about what I should buy from them.

In short, what it really tells us is that we shouldn't let much of ANY folks in corporate America have too much power in determining what our politicians do these days! Time to bring in "Clean Elections" public campaign financing!

2. That's Okay If You Can't Afford a Mac
So what that Steve Jobs has an opinion you disagree with - it makes his company and product evil? Yet Bill Gates is okay, despite his crappy, overpriced OS and his anti-competitive ways?

7. Apple is a business, not a political organization
And Steve Jobs is just one part of that business. Most of the folks at Apple are apolitical, just interested in making the best products possible. There are a few crazies like me who are left wing rabble-rousers, but we're in the minority. However, I've yet to meet a Rethug who works there. I'm sure they exist, but they're rare in a company where most people are paid to think.

8. Ironic, given how successful Apple
was in getting apples into schools (k-12 and universities) as part of a strategy early on to get students to become loyal users and future buyers. Lots of unionized teachers in those schools.
