Do you think that Keith and Tweety make a good team?
I think Tweety seems a little uncomfortable with KO--probably because "Countdown" is more popular than "Bigmouth" I mean "Hardball."

1. Tweety is a waste of space
He has no insight into anything, and I am annoyed that MSNBC always presents him as their political expert.

2. They are friends.
And I think they are the best team on tv today.

6. It's an interesting dynamic.
Keith, the sportscaster, seems far more attuned to the sense of fair, just, and principled - the 'higher' road. Tweety, the pol, is the onlooker at street fights - he loves the 'action' on the low road. Keith seems more attuned to irony, while Tweety is the sarcastic cynic. Tweety seems just a bit subdued - not free to "wing it" with invented 'facts' since, I'm guessing, Keith would lower the boom without hesitation.

Interesting dynamic. Interesting body language and facial tics.

7. Mr. Matthews
is tired. His job includes putting in far longer hours than Keith.

You have captured them well.

10. I have never gotten the impression that they are friends.
They get along professionally because they have to. But Keith could mop the floor intellectually with Tweety, and they both know it. It doesn't make for easy relations between the two.

The more I watch them, the clearer it is to me that Tweety is all about observing the superficial and the glitzy side of politics and getting a huge kick out of it. Keith cares about substance.

8. Matthews keeps saying stupid stuff that Keith has to clean up
case in point -- that Richardson and Biden have small percentages of delegates

12. No.
Keith and Rachel Maddow make a great team. Tweety is outclassed and in a very big way.

14. No. I finally had to change the channel. Mr. H kept calling him an asshole
We both like KO.

I tuned in late, managed to catch up with the salient points, and then tried to listen to some of the analysis. Everyone was fine except poor Tweety, who started to look really ragged, and then found a phrase he liked (something about Obama being a Third World person, in a good way) and started to beat it to death.

Tweety needs to not stay up past his bedtime any more.

15. I don't think so.
I feel like Chris overshadows Keith's incisive observations. More to the point, I feel like it is obvious that keith is often holding back when Chris is sitting next to him.
