9. Iowa went for Bush in 2004.
It shouldn't really be called red, since it went for Gore in 2000. More like "purple".

8. On CSPAN a number of the people interviewed said
the turnout in their precinct was about 50% more than they expected with many people changing parties.

First one would think it was rethugs trying to make mischief but I don't think so. I think it is because the rethug party is in such a bad state that these people want to be Dem's and work for change.
