More Info On the Stolen Voter Data In Nashville
The director of the Department of General Services, the department that oversees security for several Metro buildings including the Election Commission, said a security guard was on-site at the time of the break-in, but admitted to not doing his job. Instead, said Director Nancy Whittemore, the guard was listening to Christmas music.

The unnamed guard has since been terminated from Specialized Security Consultants, Inc., subcontractors of Metro’s security provider Wackenhut, according to Whittemore.

Among other mistakes shared with Craddock and other members, it also was discovered that the video recording system — connected to cameras on the outside of the Election Commission — had been unplugged for some time, but Whittemore said the department did not know for how long.

Late yesterday, Barrett acknowledged that the stolen laptops had been left out, a lapse in protocol that requires they be locked up. He also said that passwords and user IDs had been taped to the computers.

These laptops contain the registration data - including party affiliation and social security numbers - of 337,000 people. This couldn't have been planned better if it were an inside job.
