Good News From Iowa; On To New Hampshire
January 4, 2008

The essential news out of Iowa is that most Democratic caucus voters rejected the politics of the past and the corporate wing of the party. The victorious Obama campaign has inspired young activists and new activists who are very open to progressive policy positions.

With progressive candidate John Edwards' second place finish in Iowa, we now turn our attention to the New Hampshire primary on January 8, where both the Kucinich and Edwards campaigns will be in high gear. And PDA will be there pushing the progressive agenda!

PDA national field coordinator Diane Shamis will be on the ground in New Hampshire to advance the http://progressive2008.org/">Progressive Challenge 2008 and to facilitate the work of the PDA Kucinich and Edwards campaign teams. (The candidates who received two thirds of the votes in the http://pdamerica.org/articles/news/2007-12-05-08-07-19-news.php">PDA Presidential straw Poll.)

Visit the Peace Action New Hampshire office, 4 Park Street, Suite 4, Concord, NH (603)228-0559 on Friday afternoon through Monday morning and meet Diane, discuss strategy and pick up http://progressive2008.org/pdf/progressive-agenda-2008.pdf">Progressive Challenge 2008 cards to circulate the progressive agenda. (To confirm office hours on Saturday and Sunday, please call 845-661-3754.)

1. What I find most amusing
are the people who declared Edwards and/or Clinton "finished" after a single state's caucus. For the ill-informed, this is how the delegates were awarded last night;

Obama - 18
Edwards - 17
Clinton - 16

Sure is a commanding lead there, Cap'n.

And please, drop the Kucinich nonsense. If he cracks double-digits anywhere, I'll be amazed.

2. Let's hope that the new activists actually turn out to vote in the
general election in numbers to surpass the fundies & hardcore rw. They never have before.
