I think the gay hookers part feels a bit forced... I could also use a better ending. Thanks in advance!

On February 16, the Courant carried a small, and rather unremarkable, AP story about a New York man being indicted for attempting to finance terrorism. The story was about how a man named Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari, also known as Michael Mixon, was reportedly financing terrorist training camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He was also indicted for attempting to bilk investors out of millions.
A similar small story ran in the New York Post that labeled Alishtari as a peace activist.
The real story is that Alishtari was a major contributor to the Republican Party. He was named a “Businessperson of the Year” by the National Republican Campaign Committee, and was a member of the White House Business Advisory Committee. To top it off, his software business firm had dealings with the Department of Defense.
Back in the 1990s, we constantly heard breathless Republican accusations of shenanigans in the Lincoln Bedroom for the Clintons having over some Hollywood friends. The nightly news followed the story closely for weeks. The Republicans spent many Congressional hours and dollars investigating this supposed scandal and came up with nothing.
In a recent press conference, President Bush said “Money trumps peace.” With GOP donors starting the Bush Administration by killing Japanese sailors and now by financing terrorism, it seems that Bush should have said “Money trumps everything.”
With undercover gay hookers also running amok at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, one must speculate that if the White House is so easily infiltrated in this post 9/11 world, how can we trust this administration with protecting the rest of us?
