"We're winning the war in Iraq" |
|
I asked a colleague what he did over the long weekend. (Note: Like me, he doesn't have cable TV).
"I got to watch Fox News, and found out that contrary to everything I had been led to believe, we're actually winning the war in Iraq."
This got a huge laugh in the company lunchroom (as was his intent).

It must be nice to know that not only do you work with people in possession of a great sense of humor, but they are smart too!

4. Hopelessly spoiled that way |
|
We consult with Big Pharma -- folks from all over the world - the cream of the MBA progams, so I'm often the dumbest person in the room, which is interesting. The only consultant on staff who isn't Ivy League or PhD.
We're also a blue company (our owner is VERY liberal, and donates to liberal causes) in a blue city in a blue state, which rocks!
There are 2-3 Bush fans in the whole company, and, had they not helped put this idiot in office, I would almost feel bad for them.

8. I work among degree snobs |
|
And I hold a position without benefit of a degree. It's not easy to do; it takes years of proving oneself. My work speaks for itself or I'd probably feel the need to battle wits with them all the time.
Somehow I doubt you are the dumbest. I've known too many dullards with brilliant degrees:)
You can be exceedingly smart and not as educated.

2. I caught Faux News today at the Y |
|
while I was using the treadmill. For nearly an hour they reported on Iran, Iraq, Britney Spears, and two trials. What two trials? Anna Nicole Smith and Daniel Baldwin. That's right, the Daniel Baldwin trial is more important to Fox News than the Libby trial. Because it's better to inform people about liberal Alec Baldwin's brother's trial for stealing a car than the Vice President's chief of staff's perjury and obstruction of justice trial involving the leaking of a CIA official's cover.

That, and whizzing by it in hotel room TVs.
