MSNBC: Iran might be the No. 1 killer of U.S. troops in Iraq

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22537199/

<snip>

Historical tensions between the two nations have increased in recent years over Washington's charge that Tehran has been developing nuclear weapons and supplying and training Iraqi insurgents using roadside bombs -- the No. 1 killer of U.S. troops in Iraq.

21. That's it exactly --
it's not about you thinking you can fly - it's about you convincing other people you can fly.

5. Wow, they're really trying hard to catapult the propaganda, eh?
Between this and the Iranian boats harassing US ships, you'd think they were trying to provoke a war or something.

Nah, they'd never do that. Right?

This came word for word from the WH and "Must Spin Now Bush's Crap" obligingly repeats it.

14. Good grief, US "media" STILL trying to hawk that "Iran supplying Iraq" bullshit??!
Never mind how many US Military generals themselves have called it the bullshit that it is.

You can't fool everyone everytime...but apparently you have a far greater chance at doing so with Americans.

25. Clever, in their newfound pack of lies.
The Cheney propaganda machine has put out a new press release disguised as news, dutifully reported by the MSNBC stenographers.

Read carefully...

"Tehran has been...supplying and training Iraqi insurgents using roadside bombs -- the No. 1 killer of U.S. troops in Iraq."

The statement that roadside bombs are the No.1 killer of US troops is correct.

And here's where it falls apart into a big pile of disinformation:

"The vast majority -- more than 80 percent -- of American military deaths in Iraq are still being caused by Sunni insurgents, according to an ABC News analysis of data released for the month of October by the Defense Department."

The Sunni insurgents are being supplied by Saudi Arabia, not Iran.

Are we to believe that Shiite Iran is supplying the Sunni insurgents?
They really must think we are idiots.
