Right now Hillary Clinton has a 103 delegate lead over Obama
she has twice any many delegates as Obama and three times as many as Edwards. That's from the super delegate pool.

1. Which tells you just how out of touch the Democratic leadership
is with the party, and the American people.

2. And Howard Dean had more superdelegates than anyone else. Fat lot of good
that did him. The superdelegates can change at any time — and they'll probably be moving soon.

I wouldn't put too much stock in them. The next time the train stops, there are going to be a lot of disembarking passengers...

4. Yes and if the election veers away from Hillary
in the vote count, the Super Delegates will have pressure on them to change.

9. Cave faster than Reid
in a filibuster threat. Even if she slugs out enough to eat into Obama's lead they might switch fast to end the bloodshed. They know what kind of political clout she is getting. If not enough, not matter the delegate number, they will defect. Especially if they consider her coattails weak anyway.

5. Here's a link for info on current superdelegate vote
http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/01/superdelegate-list.html

Oreo, who is responsible for the blog at the first link, has said he will keep this list as up to date as possible. It will be interesting to see how the superdelegates change their support and how they effect the outcome in the long run, IMO.

6. I'm sure I'm not the only one. "Superdelegates?"
I think those are people who have voting rights in the nomination but who are not, themselves, delegates. The list of superdelegates includes all elected party members at or above a certain rank, correct?

8. Counting SuperDelegates at this point is like relying on Fox News to tell the truth...LOL
There is no formal 'commitment process' for Super Delegates. THey can change their minds right up to the point of the the first ballot at the Convention.

To talk about a delegate lead among the candidates which includes Super Delegates committed is like 'mixing apples and oranges.'

They are in no way equal to delegates won in a caucus or primary.

10. Obama is NOT going to take California he is NOT going to take California
add 500 more right there. And ususally if you people ever read, research and go back to the archives, you will see that super delegates do not change their course, UNLESS THERE IS A TIE. OR if one candidate does not have a majority than there is a lot of negotiating to help one candidate over the other. HILLARY WILL WIPE THE FLOOR WITH OBAMA AS FAR AS DELEGATES GOES. THEY WON'T NEED TO CHANGE VOTES. SHE'LL BE SO DAMN FAR IN THE LEAD THE VOTING WILL BE OVER.

12. California has 441 delegates and it's proportional distribution.
Tuesday 5 February 2008: 370 of 441 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's California Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level.

241 district delegates are to be allocated proportionally to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the State's 53 congressional districts.

25. Your so wrong and clearly don't understand CA's delegate process...
Bookmark your own OP and look back on it after not just the CA Primary on Feb. 5th, but at the end of this whole nomination process, and you will see that not only does either Obama or Edwards win CA, but that Hillary does not "wipe the floor w/ Obama as far as Delegates goes".

The only way Hillary is going to win CA is if Edwards and Obama supporters cancel each other out and thus hand to her....but remember, that means that a majority of Californians DON'T WANT HILLARY! (ie. if Hillary won 31%, Obama 30%, Edwards 30%, Kucinich 6%, Richardson 3%)

And, I predict if there is any "changing votes" of the delegates, it would be more like Obama or Edwards supporters moving over to the other, or the Kucinich supporters going over to Obama or Edwards and moving it in their direction.

Don't be so confident...Hillary does not have CA wrapped up....

They go whichever way the wind is blowing. It won't matter unless the election goes to the convention.
