A smooth talking used car salesman who's completely full of shit! Maybe we need Ahnuld to drag him out to a dam and point a shotgun at him.

You can't be that vile, that nasty, without attracting a lot of unhappy people.

Someone at that site said it reminded them of a scene from Frankenstein, and if there had been torches, it could have been.

Very enjoyable. Faux News is getting what it dishes out.

26. There's a minor difference
With Paulists, Faux doesn't know how to react. They can't afford to alienate any segment of their dwindling audience, and bad-mouthing (rather than studiously ignoring) any Republican is going to go against the grain with at least some of their remaining viewers. Now, if it was a Democratic crowd, they'd know how to respond in a heartbeat. They'd blast the mob, their putative candidate, everything. It would become a cause celebre, and Hannity would be annointed a martyr to the Lost Cause of Well-Connected White Guys, who have such a hard time in today's America.

48. Ironic Isn't It....
it's ok for a mainstream media network to send us to a war, yet seeing a crowd chant and yell at a pundit walking down the street is "creepy". That's how the media brainwashes us. We begin to accept the unacceptable and cower from taking a stand because we are taught not to do so.

58. Not cool at all. They're on our side -- this time -- but they're rowdy thugs.
I hate Fox News as much as the next guy, but chasing journalists -- and commentator Hannity is, after all, just a journalist -- in a threatening manner is rowdy mob behavior.

Will we applaud when the Paulists chase Paul Krugman or Helen Thomas or Keith Olbermann?

Anyway, setting aside my schoolmarmish disapproval:

Boy, the Ron Paul phenomenon continues to be interesting. It's like the Rovian Republican coalition is splitting apart into separate angry cliques, each one feeling more disenfranchised than the next. And here's the angry and aggrieved Ayn Rand / Ron Paul clique!

70. While I agree with you on principle, calling Hannity a journalist is quite a stretch.
Journalists are unbiased, ethical bastions of the Fourth Estate dedicated to fairly and accurately reporting the news. Hannity is neither unbiased nor ethical. Faux News wouldn't know fair and accurate if it bit them in the ass.

This "mob" acted well within their First Amendment rights, loud and verbally rowdy but restrained.

92. You're right. No physical contact, so Paul crowd were not literally thugs...
although I suspect the blonde woman at the end of the tape was scared.

I haven't seen tape of the O'Reilly incident.

<GROAN> Hell is commenting yourself into a corner where you seem like you're defending Fox News, Hannity, and O'Reilly.

Personally, I prefer political discourse to be a little more Gandhian and dignified. Like crowds marching in the streets carrying signs and chanting about policies. Symbolic acts like burning draft cards. Not nighttime ambushes of journalists.

Incidentally, I agree with protesters. I watched the Republican debates and I would have much preferred Ron Paul to be a participant, like I want Kucinich to be be in Democratic debates.

49. TWO THOUGHTS. One, LOL, the 2nd, much more troubling.
Let me start by saying that Sean and Co. deserve all the crap they can get. They certainly earned it.

But, I have seen football (soccer) played in four continents. I have experienced the excitement, the awe, the energy of an entire stadium totally into a game. And I have seen riots and violence that stems from a mere game.

Politics is even more emotionally involving, especially as our rights had faded and our hopes begin to grow with a new era. Obama and Edwards are going to piss some people off. I can easily imagine riots and street fights on political grounds. It happens everywhere in the world, and with all the steam and pressure that has collected, i would hate to see violence break out in the US.

52. This is the reason - NH GOP drops fox .

The New Hampshire Republican Party dropped their affiliation with a Republican debate sponsored by Fox News tomorrow night because they have limited the number of candidates that can participate.

“The first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary serves a national purpose by giving all candidates an equal opportunity on a level playing field," said Republican chair Fergus Cullen. "Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures."

The Fox debate is excluding Texas Congressman Ron Paul even though he polls higher in New Hampshire and has raised significantly more money, and is campaigning more in New Hampshire than Fred Thompson who is invited.

"We look forward to presenting a substantive forum which will serve as the first program of its kind this election season," David Rhodes, vice president of Fox News, said in a statement. http://www.boston.com/news/local/politics/primarysource/2008/01/nh_gop_drops_sp.html
