My daughter just brought home a book about Benazir Bhutto |
|
My daughter is in 5th grade, and the book was in a box at her school marked "freebies." She told me it was among several books the school library considered old.
I'm glad she wants to learn about Bhutto, but the book is in excellent condition. Wouldn't you think the school would want to hang onto it for a while longer?

1. If the content is old, then it is not useful to the library |
|
Maybe the library got a new copy in. Maybe they have ordered a newer book. Just because the book's spine isn't cracked doesn't mean it's a "good" book.

4. It's a strange book to toss, IMO. |
|
In light of the facts that Bhutto was a woman AND a strong political figure AND that she was recently assassinated, the book should belong in the library for at least a few more years.
I think it's time to politely ask, "WTF?" to your school librarian. Mayhaps it was a mistake, and s/he'll say "thank you" for returning the book.
