Perhaps Gary Gilmore had the right idea |

Don't get me wrong. I am very much against the death penalty.
When I read the description of the "cocktail" given to the condemned to die and the effects that they have, this makes my skin crawls. And, yes, I know, the descriptions of their crimes would be even worse.
But perhaps executing by a firing squad is the way to go. And as it used to be, only one, or two, or three, will have real bullets, the rest would be blank, and no one would know who is who.

1. Gilmore's choice was between a firing squad and hanging. |

An easy choice in my mind.
The thing about the death penalty that always gets to me is trying to imagine passing the last few days before you're executed. Compared to those few days, I think the actual execution would be relatively easy.

2. i agree with you, sort of....and I oppose DP as well. |

we DON'T KNOW the affects of the poison because one of them, usually the first given, is a paralytic agent that renders the condemned unable to move. for all we know that individual is in the worst pain imagineable. but because he's not moving and his eyes close, DP proponents argue it's just like going to sleep. God but I hate that!
