Pelosi:Statement on Cheney Iraq Comments
Edited on Wed Feb-21-07 07:10 PM by cal04
Vice President Cheney continues to question the patriotism of those of us in Congress who challenge the Bush Administration’s misguided policies in Iraq, but his latest attack is beneath the office of the Vice President, especially at a time of war.

Mis characterizations by the Vice President will not dissuade Congress from developing, on a bipartisan basis, a responsible new direction for U.S. policy in Iraq that brings our troops home safely and soon. I hope the President will repudiate and distance himself from the Vice President’s remarks.

"I think in fact if we were to do what Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha are suggesting, all we'll do is validate the al Qaeda strategy, the al Qaeda strategy is to break the will of the American people," Cheney told ABC News.

1. Note to Pelosi: Instead of bloviating, get to work and rid us of these goons.

3. Instead of posting your drivel why don't you fill out your profile.
Why is it always new posters with comments that completely miss the mark that don't have any info their profile?

4. I actually agree that she ought to get to work on removal of the illegal and criminal regime
that's held this country in its grip for 6 years. I'll be meeting Pelosi in about 3 months from now, and if she hasn't made some headway toward impeachment I'm going to suggest that she get to work on it.

7. Excuse me for not sharing your admiration of congressional inaction
Unlike you, I'm aware that every day this nightmare goes on, more people are killed or maimed and my children's' future is pushed deeper and deeper into the ground.

Sorry I don't live in your bubble where these things have little meaning.

(Note: I've been here years longer than you have.)

10. So you want to impeach Cheney - thus allowing McCain or Mitt
to be appointed v-p. That wouldn't give them a much greater chance to take the WH again in '08 or anything.

Or better yet - impeach Bush so Cheney can become Pres and appoint McCain or Mitt or Brownback.

13. Pelosi Statement on British Troop Withdrawal
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the announcement that Britain will start pulling troops out of Iraq in the coming months:

“The President’s escalation plan to send more U.S. troops to Iraq is out of step with the American people and our allies. Why are thousands of additional American troops being sent to Iraq at the same time that British troops are planning to leave?

“The President’s escalation plan has been rejected by bipartisan majorities in the House and Senate and opposed by Americans all across the country. The announcement by the British government confirms the doubts in the minds of the American people about the President’s decision to increase the number of U.S. soldiers in Iraq.”
