You SAY you want a revolution |
|
For over 7 years now, I've been listening to people say that real change was needed to bring our country back from the brink. In 2004 we were literally on the edge. It's now 2008. We aren't on the edge anymore. We're overboard. The country is clinging to deflating life rafts. Our economy is in shambles, the housing market is in turmoil and our earth is breaking down before our very eyes. Corporate America has been running our country for eight LONG years. We've suffered one tremendous setback after another.
It is a very dangerous time. Decisions we make now will affect not only our futures, but those of our children, families & friends. We are already fighting an uphill battle against opponents who have shown time and again that they will lie, cheat and steal to "win". Washington D.C. is like a cancer. The political machine is broken. None of them are truly FOR us. Our country is flat lining and all they care about is money and power.
John Edwards was the ONLY candidate to come forward right out of the gate and say he would NOT be bought by Corporate America. He was the one with the best earth plan. He is the one with the best poverty plan. He is the one with the best health care plan. He's putting himself out there to deal with all of the issues that we have said we want on the table for the last seven years. Every poll that has been put together has shown Edwards has the best chance of winning against any Republican that they run. He's giving us everything we wanted. He's a strong candidate, ready to fight for us.
Since the MSM is ignoring him, people aren't voting for him because they think that means he isn't viable. Think about that... You are getting your information (or lack thereof) from the MSM. The same MSM that has perpetuated the myriad of lies the Rethugs have been feeding us for years. We could not trust them to report accurately when Gore WON in 2000,we could not trust them to do real reporting as we were being forced in to a false war, and we can not expect them to report on the best candidate in 2008. They are bought and paid for. Corporate shills and hacks. It makes far more sense for the MSM to stick with what they know.
So here we are. John Edwards wont get any traction because the MSM wont let him & people who know he would be the best President will instead vote like it is a high school popularity contest. It's really disheartening to look ahead and see that we are about to get 4 MORE years of the same old shit. Nothing will change. Washington stays the same in fact, the termimal illness that is the DC political machine will continue to grow. We aren't going to get any do overs here. When we vote for the wrong candidate, we are stuck.
People SAID they wanted a revolution. But when the time came, they were led by the likes of Chris Matthews & Bill O'Reilly. They listened to the MSM tell them who the most popular contestant was. Will we have anyone but ourselves to blame when nothing changes? I think not. Come election day I'll be plugging my nose and either voting for the Dynasty or the guy that lets Bigots campaign for him. I can hardly wait.
I'm sure there will be some piling on here. I really could not care less. I'm not upset that MY candidate is going to end up losing. I'm upset that THE BEST HOPE for OUR FUTURE will not be able to do anything for us because WE WONT HELP OURSELVES.

5. I'm disappointed too. Couch potato electorate. I think Edwards needs to follow Gore's example |
|
We need a strong voice to head a movement outside the political sphere, to hold the government to account. The party system doesn't seem to be able to do that anymore.

because they are stealing the election for the corporates hacks,
whether you bring change or not you have diebold,
If I where Edwards, thats who he should be picking a fight with, they have become part of the fucked up system.

12. Oh come on! This is a three way contest, the republicans don't |
|
even come close to the race we've got going. JE isn't ready to throw in the towel and neither should his supporters. You obviously have missed the nationwide rise in his numbers, this is the real surge, not the one going on in Iraq, a real one taking place as we speak.
Edwards is the candidate for change. Iowa and NH are not the deciders in this race, this will be going on down to the wire. The numbers in OH & FL project John as the winner.....:)
Let us also remmber that Diebold machines rule in NH...something to keep in mind. ;)

My advice is to find the region of the country you like best and lobby for secession. If it becomes an Obama or Clinton regime, then he or she is doomed to be our country's version of Gorbachev, presiding over a dying nation.

22. Right. REAL change always comes from the people, not TPTB. |
|
For instance, the abolition of slavery, the Civil Rights movement, the Women's movement.
Did TPTB suddenly wake up one day, and say, "Gee, slavery's not fair to the slaves,"
or "Gee, it's not fair the nonwhites/women don't have the same rights as whites/men."
"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will." --- Frederick Douglass
