Democrats in Michigan: Throw the GOP into disarray -- Vote Mitt! |
|
The biggest way to tear up the GOP nomination would be to throw the Michigan primary to Mitt Romney, bar none.
So, since the Michigan GOP primary is open to everyone, Democrats (and Independents) can cross over to vote.
Let's tear the GOP to shreds!

|
Dem or Repub. In fact, Ron Paul signs are about all I've seen period. Now maybe in the Grand Rapids area where all the fundy nuts hail from things are different, but Oakland County seems to be for Ron Paul

If you are for Edwards or Obama voted uncommitted and be amused if Hillary loses to uncommitted. The delegates are not supposed to be seated but that can be appealed and they might end up seated...so if you don't want Hillary it matters.
If you are a Hillary fan she is on the ballot.
Don't write a name by "Write In". Your ballot will be tossed if the person isn't registered to be a write in candidate and Edwards and Obama are not. The ballot doesn't warn you.

If he is, wouldn't that be more effective?

11. Yes Paul is on the ballot. The GOP candidates are hitting the airways now fighting for a MI win. |
|
McCain carried the state in the 2000 primary against Bush.
I can not see how not having a real DEM race in Michigan is helpful to any DEM candidate come Nov.
The Michigan voters are going to see and hear a weeks worth of GOP candidate ads and positions unchallenged by the DEM ads and positions.
Once you get a voter to cast a vote for a certain candidate in the primary, it is damn difficult to get them to change their party preference in the general. Sort of a 'committment thing', I guess.

14. Vote for Fred if your conscience allows it. He's "that dude" from that TV show. |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 08:12 PM by davsand
He's also looking pretty much DOA in that Primary. There is NO way I'd ever vote for the "Mittster"--even IF it is in jest--that guy just creeps me out. Fred, on the other hand, looks so much like a bloodhound you just gotta chuckle.
Frankly, I just wouldn't feel right voting in a Primary just to "mess" with the other side. I may be a party pooper (so to speak) but I tend to think I'd be pissed if I got word the GOP was planning to mess in a Dem Primary just for a few giggles.

out of staters and the national party? The same out of staters and national party who don't give a damn about Michigan's problems, or Michigan voter disenfranchisement? Just maybe? :eyes:

If we're going to have a nut, I'd rather have a religious zealot who'll be at war with every corner of the establishment (GOP included) than another empty suit, warmongering, Wall Street mascot like Mitt Romney.
