Arrests made after war protest at congresswoman's office(OH-D Kaptur)
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Four people have been arrested while protesting the Iraq war at the Toledo office of Democratic Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.
Mike Ferner is a member of the Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition that organized the sit-in. He says three men and a woman were arrested just after midnight when they refused a police request to leave.

~snip~

The protest began yesterday morning with participants reading the names of the U-S military service members and Iraqis killed in the war. They were calling for an end to war funding.

Kaptur has voted for war funding in the past. But last week she voted for a nonbinding measure opposing President Bush's decision to deploy more troops to Iraq.

3. People keep getting arrested
at the offices of their representatives but nothing changes, does it?

5. What would you suggest people do?
I mean of a non-violent nature. We have to keep the pressure on members of congress--what would you have them do that would be more effective?

4. In this case, a thanks for the vote
and a serious question about voting for a binding resolution may have been the way to go. Now if the rep had voted for funding and against the nonbinding resolution, I would have said that this was exactly the right thing to do.
