College Republicans are insane
Once upon a time I actually thought a selective draft of all college republicans was a good thing. After all the ridiculous stories I've read about what they're doing on campuses around the country (including the story below), I'm starting to take the opposite view and think we should never allow them to leave the country. Ever. Keeping them from ever obtaining a passport might actually help improve our image overseas.

'Find the Illegal Immigrant'
College Republicans' event today incites protest from student groups

A contest called "Find the Illegal Immigrant" - a mock hunt for a student posing as just that - is being met with widespread protest on campus and receiving local and national media coverage.

The event, sponsored by NYU's College Republicans, is planned for today in Washington Square Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The student posing as the illegal immigrant will wear a name tag saying so. Other students will try to find him or her, playing the part of border patrol agents and wearing nametags that say "INS," referring to the former Immigration and Naturalization Service.

College Republicans president and CAS junior Sarah Chambers said the contest is intended to bring attention to the issue of illegal immigration. The hunt is also designed to draw people to a table the group plans to set up in the south side of the Silver Center, Chambers said.

4. damn you and your logic
:hi:

Fair enough. I just can't get over how these college nuts prefer to take a hot topic like immigration and make a ridiculous game out of it. I guess this explains where W got his messed up mentality.

2. Got a wonder counter protest
People dressed up as American citizens round up those labeled Rich SOBs who hire and exploit illegals and hand them over to be prosecuted. Everyone hands out flyers explaining the reason we have an illegal alien problem is that Americans are willng to hire and exploit them.

9. They wouldn't need a name badge
Just check the voter registration card. If it says "R" under "Party," you've found a Republican Asshole!

12. One of my wingnut co-workers son is one of those idiots
She thought it was "resourceful" that a bunch of them feigned interest in the Young Democrats Club and got a bunch of their literature and had a bonfire with it.
That sucks because the money for printing costs for these clubs is hard to come by. But it is the same as any Republican...whatever a Democrat does, they destroy. They don't KNOW it is better to build bridges than to tear them down.

13. Oh, man
One of my undergrads was Spanish so when I went to grad school (for something else), I sought out and became good friends with the Hispanic Student Services Coordinator at my new school, and he and the other coordinators for other minority students were very on top of things when it came to crap like this, and he was very good at laying the smack down when he needed to. These College Republicans may be getting themselves into a situation where their organization really gets its nose bloodied if NYU's Hispanic coordinator is anything like my friend.

The funniest "incident" I remember were three guys dressed in big floppy sombreros and Mexican blankets walking around the student union. My friend went to investigate, and I went to class. It turned out that it was a Christian group advertising a talk on the "3 Amigos - God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost," and he was okay with that because it wasn't disrespectful of the Mexican culture (he was worried that it was a frat hazing ritual or something). A member of that group even came to a meeting of the Hispanic Student Association to make sure they hadn't hurt anyone's feelings, which was nice but unnecessary.

Later that night, I went over to his house, and when he answered the door, I was wearing a big floppy sombrero and a Mexican blanket, and I asked him if he had found those guys in the student union.

14. There are few less-evolved knuckledraggers than College Repugs....
I was sitting in the Borders store in downtown Ann Arbor, reading, when I overheard this conversation amongst three members of the University of Michigan college Republicans. The one girl (extra stupid, extra big mouth) was bragging about interrupting an appearance by Sen. Debbie Stabenow with "babykiller" signs, and whining about how oppressed the College Repugs were on the University of Michigan campus and how Ann Arbor is an anti-Republican, radical leftist town. Then she proceeded to talk about an "Illegal Immigrant" football game they were hosting, in which the losing team was "deported."
Evolution has not been kind to some of us. :dunce:

15. I respect no young republican
of military age that is not in Iraq. There are many oppertunities in Iraq for searching for real threats to the public. Let them have their fun doing house to house searches outside the green zone, then we'll see how "fun" it is.

Bunch of Cowards at heart.

17. But don't you know that they can 'serve the war effort better' by being on
campus? That's what the president of the College Repubs at the U of A said in the student paper.
