WTF!!!!

I was double checking the date of the Michigan Primary and you have to go and look at The Michigan Democratic Delegation where Hillary is on the ballot but Edwards & Obama are not. Even if someone writes in Edwards or Obama, Michigan won't accept that vote!!!!!!!

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/MI-D.phtml

"The 12 December 2007 Voter Guide published by the Democratic Party states: "A vote for "uncommitted" is a vote to send delegates to the Democratic National Convention who are not committed or pledged to any candidate. Those delegates can vote for any candidate they choose at the Convention. Supporters of Joe Biden, John Edwards, Barack Obama and Bill Richardson are urged to vote "uncommitted" instead of writing in their candidates’ names because write-in votes for those candidates will not be counted."

1. I really hope that people know this when they go to vote.
I shudder to think how many write-in votes could be thrown out.

The whole situation is pretty messed up.

2. the reason for doing this is because Michigan wanted to move their
primary up, but the DNC smacked them down? Or, was that Florida?

4. Michigan and Florida
Michigan has lost their Democratic delegates (though there is expectation they will be reinstated at the convection). Florida has not (not sure why that is).

8. Welcome to DU! I found MI's reason
At a FAQ about this primary here: http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080111/POLITICS01/801110362

Why?

Other candidates, including Barack Obama and John Edwards, deferred to the National Democratic Party's determination that Michigan improperly jumped ahead of other states on the calendar by scheduling its primary Jan. 15. So they withdrew from the Michigan ballot.

10. Four candidates withdrew on 10/31
I don't know why Clinton didn't. "My good vs. the good of the party and the SC and NV voters...My good vs. the good of the party and the SC and NV voters...My good vs. the good of the party and the SC and NV voters..."

11. By the time of the Texas primary, it may be too late anyway.
But if there is still a race, I can't vote for the candidate I most support: Kucinich.

I wonder whether they will accept a Kucinich write-in.
