Partner and I just got our absentee ballots. There is a problem |
|
The format is new this year: a 8X15 card folded in two spots, obviously for optical scanner. On both of our ballots they were separated at the top fold. Is this gonna stop my vote from being counted? What to do? My neighbors are coming to me for advice/action.This is a heavily Puke county. All advice considered ( we are planning to ask more neighbors if their ballots cemr in pieces too.

1. It certainly could. I'd call the county registrar of voters. |
|
Or, the County Clerk, depending on your set up.
I'm :tinfoilhat: about voters being pitched off the rolls right now, mostly because voters ARE being ditched right and left due to HAVA. But, you and your neighbors seem to me to have a legit concern.

2. call your county election official |
|
and then call your county party office
you need to get this documented NOW
also, you may want to contact the SOS office as well as the state party if you don't get a satisfactory response from the county election people
hell, tell everyone you can think of
this sounds a bit fishy and needs to be investigated

6. good luck figuring it out |
|
My dad is voting absentee and they erroneously sent him a Republican ballot. No time to get the correct one by Tuesday. And this is in Michigan, where our choices have already been substantially narrowed.

Vote Kucinich in Michigan. If he wins a primary, the media will be out of excuses to exclude him from the debates. And it will be funny as Hell to watch the DLC pretend that they never said they would insist that the delegates would be seated in Denver (as they did when they assumed Hillary had a lock on the state)
