David Sirota: an appreciation

Sirota has pi$$ed me off in the past; I left some angry comments on his blog a while ago after he railed against Paul Hackett. And, of course, I don't agree with Sirota 100% of the time. But the more I read his columns, the more I think Sirota is one of the best political writers this country has today. His columns on the disasterous effects of "free" trade, the influence of money on Capitol Hill, the DLC, the mass media, the Republicans, and just issues in general should be daily reading by anyone who's at all interested in the state of the nation.

1. I agree. I find myself in conflict with Sirota only about 5% of the time.

I believe he is motivated by doing the RIGHT thing above all else and is always SEEKING the appropriate tone to take with any story.

2. He's a good read....I have his book ...also a good read..

.but he has a potty mouthsometimes when he gets angry. :D I almost e-mailed him over some of his language on his blog about his working for Lamont in Ct...when someone wrote an an attack. I thought it was so OTT that it hurt his credibility. He has a gift for explaining complicated subjects and I hope more DU'ers will read him.
