High Marks to John Edwards for His Handling of Wolf Blitzer and the Kerry Question Today
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 01:31 PM by CorpGovActivist
I thought he did a remarkable job on the entire appearance, and handled the endorsement question very gracefully, graciously, and like a gentleman.

Edited to add the quote from TiVo rewind downthread.

"I like John very much, and I have enormous respect for him. He woulda made a terrific President, which is why I worked so hard to get him, get him elected President. But, uh, political leaders do things for different reasons, Wolf, and - uh - I think that Senator Obama is to be congratulated to have Senator Kerry's endorsement, uh - I do believe that voters in SC where I am now, uh, in Nevada, caucus goers in Nev-aaa-da (pronounded correctly), and in the February 5th states, I think voters make their own decisions about who they're gonna support, and who they're gonna vote for. And I apply that to my own endorsers and supporters. I mean, they're wonderful people, I'm proud to have 'em, uh, I'm sure the other candidates are proud to have the support that they have, the endorsements that they have, but I think at the end of the day, voters are making an individual decision about who they believe should be President of the United States."

Wolf: Did Kerry give you a heads-up?

Edwards: "I did not talk to him, not about this," but indicated that he had heard some time ago that this was likely.

1. What was his response? I can't watch Blitzer without putting
my teevee in harms'way.

20. Thanks for this, I missed this segment
and really needed an Edwards warm fuzzy after watching Chris Matthews this a.m. keeping it a two-man "why won't John Edwards drop out?!" race, and GeorgeS inviting ONLY Primary winners to debate on his show.

25. Kerry's head is almost as big as yours.
Man, when he said "tectonic shift," all I could think of was those tectonic plates you both have on your skulls!
