Punishment for invasions

Why is it, that the Nazis were hanged for invaded a defenseless nation over 60 years ago, while president Bush, his cronies, soldiers behind the Abu Garib scandal, the Marines behind the slaughter in Fallujah and other cities and Blackwater operatives were cleared of war crimes against the Iraqi people and gotten away from being persecuted for invading Iraq?

Should the world team up and defeat us militarily you would see things like that. But I don't think a show trial of these warmongers would solve anything. However an impeachment would serve to bring back some of the respect the world used to have for us.

The very best that we could hope for is to force a resignation. A show trial would go like this. "I do not recall" ten million times. A few underlings thrown under the bus. Take 5 years and cost millions. B and C walk away.

The first world has been inconvenienced by the Iraq war, but their nations per se have not been devastated by the war.
