As far as I am concerned on this insane 2008 president race
I am sick of all the candidates acting like children and bringing their campaigns out so damn soon only to grab up 100 million each and for what . Who the hell wants any of these new candidates when they have already proved they are not worthy of running this country , all they do is look better than bush and this is not difficult .

I feel Gore should be offered the office and if he accepts it's over he is the 2009 president since he has already campaigned in 2000 and it was stolen , done deal , send all the others back to the house to do their damn jobs they were elected to do and save millions of dollars that would be much better spend on the troops and New orleans even id the funds don't fix everything they would be a good start in the right direction .

2. Neither party is going to do anything for New Orleans

you can forget that thought. America has never cared about Louisiana and they never will.

3. Sad as it is you are probably right
Neither party even brings this up that I have seen . People sure liked new orleans as a vacation spot while it existed but now I fear it's gone forever even if they do ever decide to rebuild it it will be some high tech ghastly shining playground .

Just another indication of how both parties are not for the people and for personal gain and position . Not to forget war .

4. So you want to just skip the election?
Who exactly would just "offer the office to Gore"? And on what authority? Sorry, I hope Al runs and WINS, but I'm not giving up my vote for ANYBODY.

7.  Yes , skip the election
Make things right for a change rather than find out the hard way that these runners now are no more than political pimps .

5. My thoughts exactly.
Although Kucinich has the spirit I most admire, I don't think he is electable.

6. Here's a thought
Kucinich IS electable. If we all vote for him. Fuck what the media tells us.

9. I agree
however people seem more concerned about the outer shell than the mind set . This is the true crime of humanity . However if voters want a vote then vote for the vice president to back up gore .

The way I look at it is the repubs already stole three elections so they are ruled out due to default from the 2009 elections and they can also take the black box machines and shove them clear up their ass as a long term reminder .

10. I'm done jumping on any bandwagons
or listening to people telling my my vote is wasted. I voted for Edwards in 2004 and I'll more than likely vote Kucinich in the next primaries.

11.  I feel people should vote their conscience
And ignore media opinions or popular opinions and vote on the candidates position on the issues one feels strongly about and believe in .

People buying into media hype and polls as well as lies is just what got us into this hell we are in now .

I know you already know this .

12. With the stench of war pervading the entire run up to the
election, whoever gets the nomination will win.
I think that is a given. That is why the real chess game is happening now.

13. I'm glad for it
The more time the two parties spend running for 2008 the less time they have to do anything. I'm all for grid lock after 6 years of "yes sir". Hopefully in 2008 the Dems can get a real majority in the Senate to pass actual legislation that might help someone. Til then I just want to see a circus. It's my Tax money I might as well get some entertainment if I'm not getting health care, protection, fiscal management, long term social planning...

14. Can you please name the ones you think are acting childish?
Edited on Thu Feb-22-07 06:11 PM by Bucky
I think there are maybe two people on that list, three if you count Biden.

A clear majority of the cadidates are behaving quite responsibly.

15.  Obama , Hillary and Biden are three
Don't know about edwards and the rest really , I am not into the premature elections at all . The reuges are all criminals at best .

I feel most people will be sick of all the candidates by the time the elections come and that's if we don't end up in Iran well before they do .

I am at the point in my life where I have no trust what so ever in politicians outside of a few . I don;t care what party they represent .

Name one who has campaigned and won who has fulfilled one promise they have made .

I thought Clinton was ok but now who can tell where he stands hanging around with bush sr and all the other things he did that added to the ruin this country .

Look at bush sr , hardly saw this guy until he ran for office and then he went into Iraq . Not that I voted for him , I didn't and now I am certain he has been controlling things to a point since Reagan got in .

I just feel there are so many more important issues , immediate issues that need to be resolved NOW ! Last thing this country needed was a side show of two years of candidate battles to help over shaddow all else .

I can't imagine what convinced them to begin now , someone had to start this off and I wish I knew who it was , maybe Rove sent out some memo and they all paniced . They are coming out of the woodwork like roaches after the same spoiled meat .

16. I wish sitting senators & congresspeople could not run.
The grandstanding and absences will be unbearable to watch..

Look at the senate:

Clinton
Obama
Brownback
probably Hagel
Biden
Dodd
McCain

SEVEN sitting senators, whose scheduled "appearances" will HAVE to affect their 'work-schedules'..

I have never liked the "safe seat, so I'll run" factor. If you truly believe that YOU are the ONLY one capable of being president, then be willing to "quit your day job" and go for it..

How many of us would have OUR jobs if we spent most of our workday, out applying for other jobs?
