-snip-
I’ve read some idiotic scientific dissertations that attempt to explain love, how color works, and why music affects our souls, but they end up sounding more like desperate attempts to discount the existence of God at all costs. You see, if they can’t disprove God’s existence, then they have to acknowledge sin … and that means there is a Hell, and that means you can’t get away with sin. Uh-oh.

So they keep trying in their attempts to exalt science over faith.

God made everything so simple that it is astounding, including life itself, but the intelligencia of modern society looks down on the simplicity of faith as if it were the uneducated realm of the uninitiated and nave. In their concept of the progress of evolution, Christians are placed somewhere between the ape and the scientist. They distain faith, but it takes a lot more blind faith to accept their theories about the origin of the universe than it does to recognize the supreme omniscience of an almighty God.

in all fairness, this is the same paper that printed this

2. Or, you can look at it this way:
1) God does exist, and designed the universe to function through certain processes which we call "nature", including evolution etc.
2) Sin also exists
3) God does not deal with sin through the maintenance of some kind of hell, but firstly tends to forgive, and secondly handles sinners through earthly reward and punishment.

See... even among believers his way is not the only way. I'm sure there are plenty of others besides his and mine.

5. My car must not work, because Henry Ford is dead.
Henry Ford designed a car and an assembly line.

He hired a bunch of people to work on the assembly line and to build and design more cars, and to run aspects of his company for him.

Therefore, Henry Ford does not need to personally sit under the hood of every car to make them run.

4. "God made things so simple..."
And the writer of the article is a good example. A simpleton!

BTW, I didn't know where Waxahatchie (sp?) is, so I went to the home page. In the poll there, it appears that the people are not too happy with Gov. Perry's executive orders. I would be in line with this, but I think they're opposed to distribution of the HPV vaccine. I wonder how they feel about Bush's executive orders.

6. And there's an abandoned supercollider in Waxahachie
If we'd completed building the supercollider we'd have more rational people in the area. Alas, we didn't and now they have regressed.

8. "Fire in the Hole Ministries"??? Does this guy and his congregation ever go to doctor?
Do they use electricity? Talk on the telephone? If God is the supplier of all, why do they bother with the things wrought by inventors, scientists, and mere man?

Of course, it is Texas.

10. A Lutheran minister once told me
that it was obvious that it was more statistically obvious that God created everything instead of a big bang and then evolution. I asked him what were the percentages/odds and what statistical model he used to determine that and could I see his work?

12. And if *they* can't *prove* god's existence
then they have to acknowledge the existence of other gods, or of none at all.

But, of course, they cannot do any of these, which is why they must always fall back on the "faith" argument.

15. Einstien Believed in God much in the same way I do.
The problem I have with so many of these so called believers is - How can you be so arrogant at to try to shape God into your point of view when pretty much every text about every God admits that they are so high above us that it is as much of an Ant trying to think on the level of a Human with a doctorate in nuclear physics.
