Did anyone watch the SOTU on HDnet? |

Except for Dan Rather talking too much and Thomas Oliphant's disgusting nose whistle, it was the best way to watch the speech. HD picture with Dolby surround sound. They followed Bush close-up throughout the chamber before and after the speech and you could actually hear the conversations he would have with people as he shook their hands. It was a lot of talk about praying that I was not expecting.
You could really make out the faces of the people and read their lips. It was priceless at one point Kennedy seemed to say , "Oh come on!"
The Chamber looked beautiful and worthy and majestic. Bush's face seemed grey and withered. I've read threads here of camera angles being subjectively showing the GOP side of things but on HDnet you could see the division of the audience and their separate reactions. They had remote cameras like at football games circling around giving many angles.
I wish I knew this beforehand so I could have told all of you but for any other year watch it in HD if you could. It's like being there.

on HD net, but caught the discussion at the end. I was intrigued with the young woman (college-aged republican) that seemed to have all the RW talking points down well. There were 2 other rep. men (older)....that repeated the RW talking points. They obviously believed what they were saying (although wrong!). I can probably guess what they watch and listen to in the MSM.

4. It was the worst nose whistling ever |
|
We were screaming about it. It was clearly Tom Oliphant because it would disappear when he talked but came back when Dan Rather was speaking. All of the millions poured into the technology and yet no one has headphones on to their mikes to hear this too?
We were hoping after the speech that someone would have told him by that point to blow his nose but nope- it was loud as ever. We muted until We saw Webb come on. Icky!

But, the Condi Rice menacing stare scared the hell out of me.
She looked like she was about to leap out of her seat and attack bush.
