25. I love Kucinich supporters. I lived for a brief time near Cleveland during |
|
Dennis' time as mayor and even then, the larger the corporate entity, the greater the slime they tried to dump on him.
But he has prevailed against them, and needless to say, he doesn't scare easily. U.S. voters may not be left-enough to bolster left-leaning candidacies, and of course the media are no help at all and usually a hindrance.

11. Hi, dicksteele. Yes. That doppelganger thing, the dark Other. |
|
On the old tv program, Gomer was appealing to U.S. viewers because there didn't seem to be any meanness in him and he always was folksy and agreeable.
But that Gomer was a character who never fed the Shadow, and when the Shadow is undernourished, it rises unbidden as the doppelganger, and voila, Governor Huckabee climbs aboard in the foggy midnight.
And he demands to know why he was cut out of the portions at supper.

If I believed that End Times garbage, and I don't, the A/C is supposed to be a uniter, a slick politician's politician, dedicated to making the world a brighter, better place in order to seduce believers from the hard path...OMG, it's Bill Clinton!
Nah. Anyway, Huckabee's too busy shooting his mouth off about what he really believes to be the Anti-Christ. He's just a huckster who has strayed from his natural destiny selling odometer-altered, badly repainted cars to little old ladies and teen-age boys. He's Bernie Mac from the Transformer Movies, he's Glengarry Glen Ross, he's a footnoted foot soldier in the War on Christmas. After the inaugaration on 1/20/09, he, Chuck Norris and GWB can go start a business together. "Huck, Chuck and Chimp's Used Car-Total Gym-Lobby Shop."

That is one lively post, momster. Agree with you -- he really has nurtured the profile of "a footnoted foot soldier in the War on Christmas."
That holiday ad he ran in Iowa and elsewhere was about as pukey as they come.
I'm waiting to see how he does in Florida. Giuliani's thrown into the mix down there, and I'm waiting to see if that erodes McCain's numbers. If Rudy cuts into McCain's totals, it could mean Huckabee slips in for first place. Ugly as it is already, the GOP race would get much uglier if Huckabee takes Florida.

My consolation is that he doesn't seem to have a prayer in the New England states, for instance, and I don't think California would go for him in big numbers.
So at the moment at least, I feel a bit safer.

22. Yes. It would be A-OK with me if Gov. Huckabee's supporters were unable |

to amass behind his candidacy in sufficient numbers to permit his winning the nomination.
Or even be considered for the veep spot.
He strikes me as unstable, and way too sure of himself.

26. I'd have to say yes. His campaign manager, God, obviously figured it out |

after Iowa and dumped him like a steaming sack of doody. Now, without the Lord's help in the polls, all he's got left is his slick charm, which is wearing thin, and his wild pandering to Armageddonites and xenophobes. I can't say I'm sorry to see him lose--he's truly awful.
