True or false: bush will NEVER be impeached or tried for his crimes. |
|
I say he will get away with it. Why? Because he's gotten away with everything he's ever pulled.
Maybe I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

Although I wish it wasn't so. And I don't think it any of the front-runner presidential candidates will pursue it if they get elected. :(

3. Congress won't go after him because so many of them are |
|
guilty as well. After he leaves office I would like to see some organizations or individuals outside of government try to hold him to account for crimes, not sure of the legal procedures one would have to go through to do that. My guess would be that congress would try to protect him so we don't fall in to a situation where every president, after leaving office, gets sent off to a war crimes trial.

4. True. They'll walk. One could cite numerous examples, I'd cite Iran/Contra cover up |
|
That was a pretty big cover up, with some two-hundred and fifty or so Reagan/Bushite folk either being investigated or indicted, and one of the key CIA criminals went on from VP to the presidency.

without the power of Poppy behind them. If he's as stupid as he appears to be, once Poppy's gone, all bets are off, assuming he makes it that far. He looks old and ragged, even worse than his father, who's got 20 some years on him.

14. True; No impeachement, no trial |
|
Ms. Pelosi has made it clear she won't impeach, even though every day brings more reason to do so.
Either they are being blackmailed, threatened (like with the antrax attacks), or are too complicit to risk impeachment.
After the election, the next president will want to "move along", "get over it", or "bring the nation together" by letting the criminals get away. That way, the whitewashing of *'s legacy can begin (look what a great job they're doing with cleaning up Ronnie's image).

No...there won't be an impeachment in the middle of an election. But a post-facto impeachment is another story.
There are still no criminal convictions or even indictments that directly implicate this regime. I hope that's not the case in the future. The corruption of this regime was so widespread...it's abuse of the Constitution so massive that ths political crimes committed will have to be addressed. Conyers has alluded to post-facto impeachment based on a larger Democratic majority in both houses and a Democratic President.
To ensure impeachment we need to get out all the dirt, all the crimes this regime has committed. Unfortunately much of this won't happen until they're removed from office. While I'd love to see the entire cabal indicted now, I also know that any indictments (not just convictions) will be pardoned on 1-19-09.
In the end, history will be the ultimate judge of this regime and of the American people. There's little doubt that boooshie will rank with Hoover, Harding and Buchanan. For all we've seen, I suspect we're only seeing the tip of the iceburg of politicization and corruption. The American people are also being judged for electing this regime and then ultimately how they rectified all the crimes. Some of these can be accomplished in an impeachment, but the ultimate justice belongs in the world court.

You Got Away With It
(A Tale Of Two Fraternity Brothers)
The tale of two brothers...a memoir Remember that kid we beat up back in college Me, you, and Thompson out in front of the frat And that hippie went home crying to his parents I can't believe you got us out of that How sweet was that God we were drunk Drove around all night after it with that keg in the trunk And when the cop pulled us over You talked us out of that, too
You got away with it You got away You get away with The things that you say
I had to quit partying about a year and a half after you did I don't regret it though, I think it was fun Besides, it was the 70's We were a couple of rich kids And aside from that one hippie We never really hurt anyone Well, there's that other thing that I won't even say As God as my witness I'll take that to my grave Cause that was an accident And you did what you had to do
You got away with it You got away You get away with The things that you say I worry forever Never for you You'll get away with it You always do
You never did tell me what happened with you and your brother down there in Florida I heard they gave you a hell of a time Everybody around here was afraid you might lose I told them not to worry cause I knew you'd be fine Had me out here to Camp David a few times over the years I think the first time we were teenagers sneakin' beers Look at you now you old son of a bitch You got the run of this place Unbelievable
You got away with it You got away You got away with The things that you say I worry forever Never for you You'll get away with it You always do You'll get away with This new thing too

|
They already do, just read the freeper boards. "Liberals just hate Bush, if he had actually committed any crimes why hasn't anyone charged him with anything?" Then they'll start renaming airports and office buildings after him.

how they got rid of Nixon, if they had anything on him they would have got him.
Not a good argument but it isn't like the people who would use it are rational or logical in their thinking.

this bamd of criminals will not only get away with their crimes, their families will prosper beyond our imaginings.
Upcoming administrations, in thrall to their corporate masters, will ensure that no investigations are done and that all is swept under the rug. If by some miracle anyone is held accountable, it will be a flunky like Scooter Libby and pardons wills ensue.
In another eight or sixteen years, they'll be back with a new generation of fascist thuggery and theft.
