"Kitten + Hitler = Kitler" - The German Green Party
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 11:52 AM by Smith_3
This is a poster currently used by the german Green Party. I think its pretty creative so I post it here.

Translation:

You don't always recognize Nazis on first sight. - Act against the rightwing instead of looking away. - Now for tomorrow.

edit: I don't think that cat was disguised. I guess it is its natural colors :-)

2. I'll have to scan the German press for reaction to this
I'm not sure this is going to go over well. Hard to say though.

4. For most of "them", it´s too painful to laugh about.

6. I found a couple of articles about it
It doesn't seem to have sparked any outrage or anything. People seem to be taking it in stride. Turns out it's an ad for the Green party in Lower Saxony, so it's probably not getting too much national attention.

5. Wow. Funny in a painful way. Prolly too sensitive a reference still for many Germans today.
And methinks the cat did get a pretty good makeover myself!

I presume you're joking, because that's certainly not a natural pattern. (Awhile ago, someone figured out the function that produces 2- and 3-color mixtures in fur. It was very interesting and I wish I'd saved the article (Sci Am, iirc)

11. It is a common pattern.

I volunteer at a shelter, and we have had a few Hitler looking cats. Check the link I posted above for one of ours, and thata website has lots of them!

12. The "moustache", sure, but not the slanted "lock of hair"
Your one is the normal pattern, where the color change on top of the head is more symmetrical

14. The shape of it can be pretty random.
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 03:17 PM by Lisa0825
I have a calico van with a big black off center blob of color and a smaller brown blob next to it. As it is pretty random, it is not really all that uncommon to find some cats with a spot that breaks to the right or left. The website admitted that the advertising group did choose one that was photoshopped, but of the cats on the website, there are several with asymmetrical patterns.

These two look legit to me, for instance:
