Creating GDPimaries was a good first step .... but we need more |
|
The Greatest Page is full of the crap that passes for discourse in GDPrimaries. Every piece of babble that someone shouts gets five "Amens" before anyone can say "enough, already!"
I used to go to the Greatest Page when I was short of time, just to get a sample of what was up. But now ....... I find two or three things I want to read, but only after wading through what seems like fifty of the same thing ...... inane campaign shouting.
Yeah ... I know ...... I'm inane, too.

4. I love the feature that lets us hide the GD:P posts from the Latest page |
|
I wish we had the same ability for the Greatest Page. Skinner?

5. That's an excellent suggestion. |
|
Just in general, I've always thought that it should take more than 5 votes to make the Greatest Page. Maybe 10.

9. I think 10 votes - at least through the primaries |
|
is a great idea. I normally only look at the Greatest Page, and I KNOW I'm missing a lot of decent stuff, but I don't have the time to go looking for it.

15. I'm thinking 25 votes needed out of GD:Primaries |
|
at least right now, so that the little cliques won't be able to get the asinine posts up on the Greatest. I'd like to see a much larger consensus of what's constitutes "greatest" content during the primary season.

19. With the speed that some threads drop off |
|
an awful lot of good stuff will fall by the wayside too. I think that's a shitty idea, myself.

Lock 'em in the dungeon. No "greatest" votes for GD primaries threads.

11. People shouldn't be allowed to start more than one thread |

13. I suspect the Greatest Page will be obsolete in the new version of DU |
|
This version was pretty good, but I think its limitations have really started to show. From the messages I've read from the Admins, it looks like they are working very hard to address a lot of these issues.

14. YES. I am so with you! Scrolling through dozens of the same old crap |
|
posts is miserable. If The Lounge can be removed from Greatest page, one would think that the ugly nonsense on GD:primaries could be, also.
There's precious little of informative value there, just scrabbling, spitting and smearing.
It makes the Greatest page completely useless.

1. "Edwards is cool!" 2. Generic flamebait. 3. Anti-Obama flamebait. 4. Anti-Hillary flamebait. 5. A list of talking points from that day's emails.
