How has McCAIN lasted so long, given his temper & other freak-outs?!1 |

He even got a pass when he lashed out at Maria SHRIVER. Hey!1 Was SHE there when Ahhhnuld endorsed the Cain man? *******QUOTE******* http://www.nypost.com/seven/02022008/gossip/pagesix/pagesix_u.htmRaising MccainJOHN McCain's fiery temper and twisted humor has gotten the GOP presidential front-runner into a new book about not-so-great moments in American politics. In "Idiots, Hypocrites, Demagogues, and More Idiots," Paul Slansky writes: "When Texas Senator John Cornyn sniped at for missing all but the last day of the 2007 debate on immigration reform, McCain shouted, ' you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room." Slansky also notes McCain's wicked humor, recalling how he told a 1998 GOP fund-raiser, "Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? She's the child of Janet Reno and Hillary Clinton."

Here's the Maria treasury. Item #1, from 2000, has some priceless time-capsule tidbits about McCAIN's bitterness against Shrub, refusal to endorse Shrub, certainty that GORE would win.

.... Still, around him, it kept getting uglier. There was the Maria Shriver incident, for instance. On Tuesday, as the results became apparent, NBC's Shriver parachuted into his hotel at the Beverly Hilton and demanded an interview. McCain, already turning down interviews with bigger names like Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather, not to mention members of his traveling press corps who have followed him for months, demurred. Shriver, not taking no for an answer, stood in a stairway hoping to ambush Super Tuesday's big loser.
According to several witnesses, Shriver got to McCain after his advance man, Lanny Wiles, blocked her path. "She did a Lawrence Taylor pick-and-roll around Lanny," said one Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist.
In the process, Shriver's soundman and cameraman accidentally banged their equipment into Bridget McCain, the senator's adopted 8-year-old daughter. Cindy McCain yelled at Shriver. McCain -- caught on camera -- snapped at her to get out of his way. Shriver got great footage -- the irritable, mercurial, bitter McCain getting angry for no discernible reason.
A McCain staffer managed to keep the footage from being broadcast on "Today" after complaining to NBC honchos of Shriver's behavior. The footage was then dumped at the doorstep of "Entertainment Tonight," which not surprisingly ran it with no compunction -- or context -- whatsoever. "Crazy Angry Bitter John McCain" stories buzzed on "Extra!" and other schlock without mention that he was reacting to Shriver and crew's assault on his daughter. ....
http://laist.com/2008/01/30/schwarzenegger_mccain.php
The love between Johnny-Mac and the Governator is nothing new. Maria Shriver once said "I doubt I'll be speaking to him again in the future," referring to McCain... but that was in 1999. McCain has since worked with Ted Kennedy, however, on a comprehensive immigration reform bill that won't likely pass through Congress during the current administration.
What do you think? Will we get 3-way bear hug? Will Maria show up? Is Schwarzenegger going to back McCain all the way?

4. I think that is pretty evident . . . |
|
Mitt represents corporate America at its worst
Huckleberry - enough evangelicals over the past 8 years
Ghouliani - what family values
Ron Paul - a loose cannon - plus he does not like their war
No one else left - McCain is the absolute lesser of all evils

6. As an Arizonan since well before he entered the political scene, I've got some ideas about this and |
|
they bear consideration.
*He started out making some powerful local political allies (his current wife no doubt got him hooked up with Charles Keating). Local big biz recognized a useful idiot when he squeaked past the Keating scandal relatively unscathed and they are still making use of him. Now he's moved onto DC and big biz has begun making THEIR use of the diot.
*He puts on a good facade for the media. It's funny, because early on in his career, the local press HATED to cover him because of his temper. I know a local cameraman who says they often draw straws still to get the McCain assignment. It's a testament to the power of the corporate media that this hasn't become an issue with them. This is well known locally, but the public has no clue, it seems.
*He will pander to ANYONE to get their vote, but he's a certifiable neocon Bushbot. He's about as "maverick: as "My Little Pony"--just look at his voting record post 2001. This is also well-known and easily verifiable, but the public laps the "maverick" image up.

8. According to polls, one-third of all Americans support Bush |
|
and they´ve had seven long years to think about it.
These voters will vote for McCain.

awful that grandpa McCain looks good. It like going through the trash bin behind a pizza parlor to find the one that doesn't look so bad to eat if you are hungry.

13. How has McCAIN lasted so long, given his temper & other freak-outs? - simple |
|
. . .
Americans are basically violent creatures
Spawning the globe with their warfare and killings
Sure, we have the groups complaining about what their government is doing
But not enough to be effective
Obviously
(sigh)
