Here's the DNC research page on Rudy Giuliani...
A lot of people don't realize they are doing this research because the media doesn't pay much attention, at least not overtly. Lots of good info here.

There is a lot of research under each heading.

One example:

Rudy Giuliani Snubs Conservative Base

Another example:

Must Read: Myth has made the man: 9/11 not enough for Rudy's Prez run

More on the other candidates, especially McCain, coming up.

2. John McCain...research page.. Lots of good stuff.

http://www.dnc.org/a/2008_republican_presidential_candidates/john_mccain/

Example:

Memo to McCain: Duck! VP Cheney Fires Back at McCain Over War Criticism

"Being the establishment candidate has its rewards, but as John McCain is learning, attacking the Vice President and getting away with it isn't one of them. As part of his do-anything-to-win campaign for the Republican nomination, McCain has made it a habit to attack the execution of the Iraq war, even though he's been one of its strongest supporters and the lead proponent of the escalation. His recent attacks on the Vice President and former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld over their handling of the war, however, earned a strong rebuke.

During an interview with ABC's Jonathan Karl for Good Morning America, Vice President Cheney "fired back" at McCain over his recent criticisms. Cheney said McCain has since apologized, and went so far as to suggest the presidential hopeful might also apologize to Rumsfeld.

"I just fundamentally disagree with John," Cheney told ABC, "John said some nasty things about me the other day and then next time he saw me ran over to me and apologized. Maybe he'll apologize to Rumsfeld."

The Vice President concluded, "John's entitled to his opinion. I just think he's wrong."

Lots more.

5. thanks....I was just working on an updated version of a thread I started on that creature.
here's the first one. plenty to start with. I haven't looked at yours yet, but am curious to see what they have, cause there's a LOT in this thread that is inimical to his electability, if only the M$M bothers to use it. I'm not too confident that they will, as the narrative for 08 has already been set, much as it was for Bush in 1999, when the M$M REFUSED to look into his drug use, his AWOL, his business failings, the myriad other stories, any ONE of which would have sunk a democratic hopeful.

7. more here, from Crooks and Liars link
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/02/06/what-america-needs-to-know-about-rudy-giuliani/

Rudy Giuliani’s shoddy “leadership” made the 9/11 tragedy worse.

You might recall that several New York firefighters died when the towers collapsed. Giuliani testified to the 9/11 Commission that firefighters had been given an evacuation order, but they chose to stay because they were rescuing civilians. This testimony was not exactly, um, true.

For all the power of his voice and stature, however, Mr. Giuliani’s account must compete with a substantial and diverse body of evidence that flatly contradicts much of what he and his aides say happened that day, particularly on matters that could be seen as reflecting on the performance of his administration.

On perhaps the most painful of these, the loss of at least 121 firefighters in the north tower, Mr. Giuliani suggested that they stayed inside the trade center because they were busy rescuing civilians — never mentioning that they could not hear warnings from police helicopters, that many of them never learned the south tower had collapsed or that they were having serious problems staying in touch with their own commanders.

Witnesses who escaped from the tower tell a vastly different story than Mr. Giuliani. They say that in the north tower’s final 15 minutes, only a handful of civilian office workers were still in the bottom 44 floors of the building, perhaps no more than two or three dozen. Many of the firefighters who remained in the towers were between the 19th and 37th floors, having made slow progress up the stairs in their heavy gear.

It is clear, witnesses said, that even after the south tower collapsed, many, if not most, of the firefighters had no idea that they were in dire peril, or that it was time for them to leave. In contrast, police officers received strong guidance from their commanders to get out of the building, the commission reported, thanks in large part to the information sent to the ground by police helicopters.

8. Mitt Romney...not quite as much on him yet. But a start.

Changing His Mind: Romney Concedes Smooth Talking Ways

"On his way to South Carolina, Mitt Romney finally conceded the obvious yesterday. After months of trying to smooth talk conservative voters into ignoring his real record, Romney told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, that he sees "no problem... with someone who changes their view on an issue, because I certainly have." Of course, Romney hasn't changed his mind on an issue, he's changed it on just about every issue in this campaign, including immigration, gun control, abortion, gay rights, campaign finance reform, tax cuts, health care, stem cell research-even his own political heroes.

In fact, Romney's views have been so consistently inconsistent that a growing chorus of commentators and activists are rejecting Romney's smooth talking ways. Just this week, Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen said, "to watch Romney on the show was to see a thoroughly counterfeit man." Columnist Ruth Marcus said listening to Romney is like "watching a chameleon in the fleeting moment that its color changes to suit its environment." Conservative syndicated columnist Deroy Murdock called Romney an actor who "has lost himself so thoroughly... that no one really knows where the performer ends and the characters begin." Union Leader, 2/16/07

"Smooth talking Mitt Romney's admission that he sees no problem with candidates shifting their views for political gain pretty much sums up his campaign," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Damien LaVera. "Romney may not see a problem with changing his views, but for voters looking for strong leadership and consistent values, Romney's smooth talking ways are a serious problem. Voters don't want political opportunists who will say whatever he thinks the voters want to hear, they want real leaders who offer real plans for America’s future."
