My Mom's Wild Theory on the GOP & McCaine
My Mom said something this morning that made me think. Yeah, its wild but hear me out. She thinks McCaine will get the Nomination and they will pick a really conservative Vice President. If McCaine gets elected and takes office,he will step down due to health reasons after a few months and the VP will take over. I know its tin foil hat wearing paranoia, but I still can't shake it. I put nothing past the GOP/Karl Rove.

2. if nominated
he DEFINITELY will have an ultra-"conservative" (neocon, theocratic fascist nutjob) VP candidate.

5. Almost certain - he has to convince his base that he's not as bad as they think he is
Too bad for Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman.

3. and to think that this actually sounds quite middle-of-the-road for them
Given what Rove's been up to in the past (smearing etc.), it's definitely a possibility. Not paranoid at all. They've snuck their ideologues into position using happy-face tactics before.

Kudos to your mom.

4. Even if that's not the "plan," that's a legitimate issue for us to campaign against
The actuarial tables are not real kind to a man who's had cancer, in his early 70s. Not that likely to make it past a first term, and far more likely to kick off in the first term than would be any other candidate.

That being the case, it's fair to focus on the extremism of whatever Veep he'll pick, and it's a good bet that Veep will be farther to the right than McCain.

Along with being a warmongering sack of shit like McCain already is.

10. His ego's too massive to willingly step down and he would
try to work through any health crisis even if it would be bad for his health but if he was elected I could easily see this happening.
