"Will falling gas prices doom the economy?" |
|
Yes, indeed, that was the teaser on our local news this morning. "Will falling gas prices doom the economy?" was solemnly intoned every five minutes. By the time they actually got to the story, of course, it was about how lower gas consumption was a sign of a weakening economy.
Idiots.

It's their photogenic qualities and ability to read from a teleprompter. And sometimes they don't read too well either.

3. I know it's early, but come on! |

Our local news stations--all of them--regularly confuse concepts like north and south. If it weren't for the weather, I woudn't watch them. Come to think of it, the weather isn't all that accurate, either.

If the screen is flashing "Severe Weather Alerts" and she's sleeping quietly on the floor-it ain't gonna. If she suddenly hides in the bathtub-you have about an hour before the storm hits.

6. SPINNING so fast they don't even know what direction they are spinning |

Don't you think it would be the other way around? As gas prices soar, people have less in their pockets to spend on other things and shipping cost soar.
Falling gas prices would have the single largest boost to this economy. More than a 1 time $600 check borrowed from China.

If gas prices dropped maybe Americans would have a little change in their pockets to spend on something else.
