Poll question: As a juror would you find someone guilty of a crime where the "evidence" is a coerced confession?
And when I say coerced I mean pain causing techniques.

2. The problem is that you will not "Know"
Until after the trail. During the trial it will be presented as fact. If it was presented as coerced then the judge would more than likely throw it out.

3. That is why confessions are videotaped here in Illinois

And the reason that happened is because then-State Senator Barack Obama brought all the opposition (cops, DAs, prosecutors, Republicans) together till the bill was signed into law.

On edit: And I should add that this happened because there is evidence that people (mostly African-American male prisoners) were indeed tortured--the word is not too strong--into confessions.

that people who may be innocent can be coerced into false confessions. Modern civilized democracies with decent educated populations know this.
