Insightful author interviews
Saturday 9 PM, Sunday 6 PM and 9 PM, Monday 12 AM ET
Michael Long has collected the personal correspondences of Jackie Robinson in First Class Citizenship: The Civil Rights Letters of Jackie Robinson. From Robinson's integration of major league baseball, to his involvement in the civil rights movement and national politics, his letters reflect the political landscape of the fifties and sixties. Jackie Robinson's correspondents included many national political figures such as Richard Nixon, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Barry Goldwater. Mr. Long talks with Kevin Merida, an associate editor of The Washington Post.

Weekend Highlights
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pat Duggins, Final Countdown: NASA and the End of the Space Shuttle Program
Pat Duggins chronicles the U.S. space program from the early stages of the shuttle program in the 1970s to the decision in the early 2000s to retire the shuttle in 2010. He has reported on NASA for twenty years and had access to NASA employees and astronauts in recounting the struggles and successes of the space program. Mr. Duggins also talks about the future of space exploration and NASA's next major efforts.
(Saturday 8 AM, Sunday 6 AM, Monday 1 AM ET)
Thomas Henricksen, American Power After the Berlin Wall
Thomas Henriksen talks about U.S. foreign policy following the fall of communism, including U.S involvement in Panama, the Persian Gulf, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The talk was hosted by the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC. (Saturday 12 PM, Sunday 7 PM and 11 PM ET)
Jim Wallis, The Great Awakening: Reviving Faith & Politics in a Post-Religious America
Jim Wallis, the founder of Sojourners magazine, participates in a panel discussion entitled "Choosing a President: What do Evangelicals Want?" The panelists include Rev. Cheryl Sanders, Rev. Joel Hunter, Bishop Harry Jackson, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, Richard Cizik, and Lynne Hybels. The panel is moderated by Steve Waldman and David Kuo of Beliefnet.
(Sunday 2:30 AM and 8:30 AM ET)
John Strausbaugh, Sissy Nation: How America Became a Culture of Wimps & Stoopits
John Strausbaugh argues that America has become a nation lacking courage and conviction in Sissy Nation. He claims that after World War II, the country used its position of power to grow fat, lazy, and pampered which led to a culture of victimhood, fundamentalism, and political correctness. Mr. Strausbaugh comments on the 2008 election and the influence of a sissified nation when choosing its political leaders.
(Sunday 12 PM ET)
Ha-Joon Chang, Bad Samaritans: The Myth of Free Trade and the Secret History of Capitalism
Oxford University economist Ha-Joon Chang argues against unregulated international trade. Mr. Chang contends that the GDP of many developing countries was higher prior to deregulation, and that the pressure of countries such as the United States and Britain to follow this model is false, as these countries built their economies with the assistance of government intervention.
(Sunday 2:15 PM ET)
