snip~ NO ONE is protecting our rights...no one

The Democrat who heads the Senate Intelligence Committee, John Rockefeller of West Virginia, led the way in killing amendments that would have strengthened requirements for warrants and raised the possibility of at least some accountability for past wrongdoing. Republicans declaimed about protecting America from terrorists — as if anyone was arguing the opposite — and had little to say about protecting Americans’ rights.

9. You seem to think they are at cross purposes
I assure you, they are not. These two are conciliatory and will close all open investigations in the spirit of bipartisanship. We will have to go to the world courts to get justice, mark my words. These two have been picked precisely because they know how to play the game and they won't rock that boat. If you are expecting otherwise, you will be horribly disappointed. I am ok with either candidate but I harbor no illusions that they will seek justice for the wrongs committed by this administration any more than Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid have.

4. I've disliked John/Jay Rockefeller (D-WV)...
..since he tried to pass a law for the FCC to apply indecency regulations to cable and satellite TV.

Jay Rockefeller is not a friend of our liberty.

6. Are YOU protecting our rights?
That's not a wise-ass question, nor am I knocking you.

I want to make the point that political action starts, is supported by, and is completed by the people. We have gotten into the bad habit of looking to statesmen to be our leaders, when they are our hired consultants in legal and administrative matters.

There is only one antidote to despair, and that's engagement.

Courage!
