Yoo Hoo. . .Nobody's perfect |
|
"To err is to be human."
Our foibles and frailties can be "character building" depending simply upon how we respond to or rectify them.
The nature of campaigning is often a tiresome sort of tape loop of "I'm so great, I'm so great, I'm so great."
I recently learned two things. . .
1) The etymology of the word "inauguration" is "patterns in nature would reveal who should be empowered."
(Shortly after Katrina struck, I was talking on the phone with a dear friend who can be sort of overly suspicious sometimes and she was doubting that * really even went to NOLA. I think he did but I asked her if she had seen the outrageously heavily armored limo that * rode in during his second inauguration (that Mr. Pitt aptly described at the time as resembling a bowling ball rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue). I was talking really fast and in one of my better verbal faux pas of my life instead of saying "inauguration" I said "during his second ignore your nation. . ."
2) In wolf packs, dominance is established by the wolf who can initiate and inspire the best form of play.
Too bad we can't be more like them.
With all these hearts floating about I just wish we could lighten up on all the acrimony, attempts at character assassinations and celebrate a few virtues instead.
Silly me.

4. 2. We are better than wolves. |
|
Wolves are not able to resist actions that will cause karmic issues. I've seen "play" that reminds me of "lord of the flies". Even here, where we should be aware of any behavior that matches Bush's, and be revolted by it in ourselves and others.
Oh well..
