Jesu Fucking Christi ..... Ralph AGAIN?????????????

Is Ralph Nader Planning Another Presidential Run?

NEW YORK (AP) ― Ralph Nader could be poised for another third party presidential campaign.

The consumer advocate will appear on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. Nader launched his 2004 presidential run on the show.

A spokesman for Nader did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Kevin Zeese, who was Nader's spokesman during the 2004 presidential race, but is no longer working for him, said Friday that Nader has been actively talking to "lots of people on all sorts of levels" about the possibility of making another run.

Zeese said he could only guess what Nader might do, but added: "Obviously, I don't think ("Meet the Press" host) Tim Russert would have him on for no reason."

Last month, Nader began an exploratory presidential campaign and launched a Web site that promises to fight "corporate greed, corporate power, corporate control."

1. Amen and amen. Fuck you Ralph
You old has-been that keeps claiming Bush = Gore. We now know the difference. Bush is no Nobel Prize winner.

4. Well, after what the Dems pulled in Michigan and Florida, he'd probably do well in both states.
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 11:20 PM by TahitiNut
Like I've said before, Election 2008 is the Democrat's to lose ... and, as I've seen over the last four decades, they're sure up to the task.

Besides ... the Blue Dogs (and DLCers) need a convenient scapegoat and Ralph fits the bill. (A lot of 'leftist' Dems seem to enjoy joinng in ... it's probably a welcome respite from being the whipping boys.)

19. The VOTERS didn't. The "Party" insiders did.
Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 12:20 AM by TahitiNut
The voters had no say in either the "rules" or in the internecine battle for control inside the party. That was a pure clusterfuck INSIDE the Democratic Party!

Try taking your own asinine advice.

17. It's interesting. I was thinking about Ralph at the store today in the context of
some of the Hillary supporters who claim Hillary has a secret magic mojo that somehow allows her to deflect, defend against, or disarm the Republican attack machine. The argument goes that since Hill has been the recipient of so many attacks, that she has some magical invisible armor that protects her from them.

I was thinking Ralph must have similar armour that protects him from the Democratic attack machine, since he has been the recipient of so many attacks.

America, ain't it great? Anybody can dream of growing up and becoming the president of the US.

My guess is if Ralph runs, he will get a minuscule amount of votes this year from people who wouldn't vote for either party's candidate if you paid them to. But he will only get a portion of that demographic. Some of that demographic will write in another preferred non-candidate, some will just not vote the presidential race, and some will write in a fictional character.

I've never understood the fear and loathing some Dems carry for Ralph. I think it's the psychological need for a scape goat. I wouldn't vote for him again, and when i did it was a strategic vote. I lived in a Red State that overwhelmingly went for bush. If i had lived in a swing state I'd have voted Gore without hesitation. But i actually kind of like Ralph in a detached kind of way. I certainly don't see him as "the enemy." I have my own issues with Ralph but they are different issues than the Ralph haters have.

23. If Oregon looks firmly in the corporatist Dem camp, as I think it will come November,
I will vote for him. Or any other outsider candidate. Our system sucks, representative 2 party democracy sucks, and any time I can make my vote a protest against the system, I will.

I have never understood the Nader-hating passion. The Dems lost 2000 through an incompetent campaign and Clinton's blowjob, and then the Supremes stole it - blaming Nader for the last seven years, especially after the American people refused to do what was necessary to oust the junta, such as a general strike, is the weakest logic yet from a decidedly weak constituency.

You can waste your nearly useless vote (in most states) to prop up the same old bullshit, but what little value the vote has I will use to lodge a protest - provided I am sure I will not help elect grandpa McCain. I may argue against Nader-hating, but there is no way I will actually step into the category that the Nader voters from Florida 2000 occupy. The water is way too murky there. I doubt I could argue so vociferously if I were in their shoes.

Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 04:02 AM by Angry Mollusk
Ralph is a bit like Lyndon LaRouche- he will always be after the presidency, but he'll never win...Ralph is a bit eccentric, and Lyndon is certfiable nut...Both are too far out to ever be taken seriously..
Even still, he has every right to run..

29. I firmly believe that Nader runs to try and get Republicans elected for this reason:
I think he's a scorched earth thinker -- he thinks that the only way for real change is for things to get so horrible that the radical becomes possible.

So he runs as a spoiler, knowing he won't win, but trying to split up the vote of more liberal minded thinkers, so that the GOP will win and the country will continue its spiral into chaos..... because out of the chaos emerges the real revolution.
