Canada, U.S. agree to use each other's troops in civil emergencies
Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 10:27 AM by Phred42

Can you say - NORTH AMERICAN UNION ?

SO, what are they gearing up for? Why do they think they need this? Add this to Blackwater which is staffed by killers from South Africa, South America etc and the Blackwater bases being built around the country (many near population centers like Chicago). If we ignore this, we will regret it.

By the way - (last sentence) where is the American Left? Asleep again as usual?

Canada, U.S. agree to use each other's troops in civil emergencies

Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal.

Neither the Canadian government nor the Canadian Forces announced the new agreement, which was signed Feb. 14 in Texas.

The U.S. military's Northern Command, however, publicized the agreement with a statement outlining how its top officer, Gen. Gene Renuart, and Canadian Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, head of Canada Command, signed the plan, which allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency.

The new agreement has been greeted with suspicion by the left wing in Canada and the right wing in the U.S.

10. Can you imagine the reaction if it were MEXICO and the U.S.?!1
BTW, Mexican relief teams assisted during Katrina and the California fires. It was quite a sight: A convoy of Mexican army jeeps and trucks snaking through Texas, covering the same trails they did before 1836.

11. The last two or three times our army was used for civilian disaster it
was because of too much snow (silly then mayor of Toronto called out the troops after a particularly large dump of snow much to the amusement of the rest of the country) or for the ice storm.

Now what would members of the American military know about that?
