Do robocalls actually work? Because I've been called about 10 times
today, and I'm getting pretty sick of it. There is a special election today in my state senate district, and the outcome might turn over power in the New York State Senate. I received 1 call from a live person for the Democrat, 1 call from a live person for the Republican, two robot calls for the Republican and about 6 or 7 calls from dead air (I hang up if no one responds within a few seconds once I've answered the phone.)

I think that one call from a real live person is OK, but multiple calls or even 1 call from a recording is a turn-off.

3. I've Been Getting Robocalls
Like crazy here, too. The Only Human That I Spoke With so Far was Someone From Obama's Office.

4. Clinton robocalls here in ohio are horrible. I listened to one all the way through
there were problems on it on many levels:

first, she sounded dead tired in the recording, which may have been faulty equipment, but still.
second, the ONLY good thing she said about herself was that she would "FIX" NAFTA. Since she's running on her husband's presidency, everyone knows where NAFTA came from, so that's hardly a good thing to bring up, it just reminds people of the one thing most agree was BAD about the Clinton presidency -- ESPECIALLY here in Ohio, where NAFTA is a dirty four letter word.

third, she attacked obama in a real snarky way, with an unprovable. the attack was basically "Obama isn't ready to run the country"....that's a stupid attack since its unprovable. IF she were going to attack him, she should have stuck to something provable he did or didn't ALREADY do.

stupid, stupid and desperate is how the call sounded. And, to boot, Obama has REAL PEOPLE calling, not robocalls.

if that isn't a metaphor for the difference between the campaigns, I don't know what is.

5. I've been getting robocalls from both of the local campaigns
for several weeks now. I've got to tell you, if I hadn't already wanted to get rid of the Republican candidate for years, those calls would have kept me from voting for either candidate.

6. I'm averaging about 15 calls a day from people wanting me to
donate money for political reasons. I'm thinking of changing my phone number, but thank God for caller ID. My niece says I would be better off answering the calls and telling them to put me on their "do not call" list. I resent the fact that I donate a hundred dollars to one candidate then get 15 calls in a day for more - enough already.

7. Robo calls should be illegal. Period.
As should cold calling sales calls to residences. If I want ads, I'll watch tv or listen to the radio.

9. Before our primaries, on my cell, constantly
I'm not sure where they connected that number to me (I use it really only for family and a few friends), but suddenly, all these recorded HRC calls with a VA area code. PITA.

No, I hang up immediately with either a predictive dialer pause or a robocall. Frankly, unless I know you personally, I don't want to talk to you on the phone, period!
