Al Gores supposed weight problem?
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 04:15 PM by trumad
I'm constantly hearing that Gore needs to lose weight if he decides to run for the Pres. I know---most of it is coming from the dumb ass Freeps---but I've heard it more than often from some on the left.

I don't get it... The dude is big, no doubt...but he carries it well and in my opinion, looks great.

32. If Bush paid half as much attention
to America's Constitution as he does to his own bodily constitution, we'd all be in a hell of a lot better shape, IMO.

Since most people in the US aren't at their "ideal" weight I'd think it makes him more appealing to the average person.

8. Freepers discuss his weight because they cannot wrap their brain
stems around issues like Iraq, Iran, our military, global warming, the destruction of the middle class, etc. Much easier to discuss looks and weight.

9. That's one of the best pix I've ever seen of them. I think "Big Al" has his mission now...
...and we are all blessed that he does.

It occurs to me that unless our next Dem pres has an army of people behind him as fanatic -- um, dedicated -- as the ones BushCheney does, he (or she) is going to be hard-pressed just to stay on top of all the crap left behind by them.

That may part of Gore's calculus in deciding whether to make another run for the WH or to press on where he is.

Hekate

16. It's not a big deal, but he is a little heavy.
It's no more a problem for him than it is for any of the rest of us.

He could lose 15 to 20 pounds I guess.

And I agree that he carries it well. He's lucky that way. If I put on 10 extra pounds I end up with a double chin.

20. I'm going to one of his global warming presentations Thursday at OU
(University of Oklahoma) so I'll let you know how he looks in person. Quite honestly, I don't give a damn what the right wing noise machine says about Gore's appearance....he might be a few pounds overweight, but, so what. He's far and away more qualified to be President than anyone currently announced.

One Academy Award report called him "larger than life." That was probably meant to be snotty, but should be taken positively. Gore is sound of mind and body - unlike the appointed substitute.

42. yes, though i don't believe Gore has ever had health problems
at least not like Bill Clinton and some others who have a history of it in their family and just themselves.

he might be one of those who can have a bit more weight than the average person yet still be just as healthy.

but as you say i do hope he keeps his health in check and i'm sure he gets regular check ups.

47. IMO Al Gore doesn't photograph well
I saw him in person in 2000 and he was WAY better looking than in photos.
I was actually startled by how different he looked in person.

I know he's gained weight, but I would be willing to bet that he looks much heavier on camera than what he actually is.

I believe he is one of those unlucky people who typically does not photograph well.

With all that said I think both he and his wife look great.

50. I'm not in that camp either
As far as I am concerned Obama being a smoker just means he is familiar with the plight of all current and former smokers and may actually understand and want to help us...I actually LIKE that about Obama.

As a disclaimer Gore is my first choice (if he should throw his hat in the ring) but I am not into bashing the other candidates...most have their good points IMO
