Is John McCain the New Bob Dole? |
|
The GOP "reflex" of constantly attempting to paint Obama as a liberal, however, will "turn McCain into Bob Dole." Murphy insists http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/02/tv-soundoff-sunday-talki_n_89414.htmlRemember when they had Dole out there calling Clinton "President Bozo"? It will be like that.

2. I think it's a perfectly valid comparison |
|
Both are older military veterans running against populist Democrats. McCain may be leading in the polls right now, but I doubt it will last for long after the conventions.
Although I still have a small amount of respect for Bob Dole. I don't have an ounce of respect for McCain.

9. LOL! Of course, that would be Libby, some wacko, and Bob Dole. |
|
Listening to Bob Dole speak always reminded me of watching the "Smurfs." "He smurfed up his chance at the smurf because he nothing but a raging smurf!" :)

Bob Dole has a good sense of humor. McCain always seems like he's about to go postal.

7. I said that the day he won enough delegates to omit Huck! |

John, like Bob, is a reasonably likeable guy, but BOTH OF THEM are just TOO DAMN OLD! They couldn't motivate the Pubs to vote for Bob, and they sure aren't going to get them to vote for John either!
And before someone beats me for picking on OLD PEOPLE, I'm almost 65 and I've seen how peoplereact to different public figures. I watch McCain and all I see is a tired old man.

8. Funny you should mention this |
|
because that's exactly how we refer to McCain here in my office -- Bob Dole II. My boss even has a sign on his door that reads "Bob Dole for President", but with Dole's name replaced with John McCain.

being in the White House. Defiantly didn't want him there but there wasn't the "batshit crazy" worries.
