Pelosi is wrong on the tanker deal. |
|
Nancy, Northrop and Airbus simply have a better plane. Get over it and focus on something more important. http://phillybri.blogspot.com/2008/03/stop-protectionist-bitching-in-stunning.html

1. So, it's alright with you that billions and billions U.S. taxpayers money goes overseas? |
|
And, that during this recession, we will allow thousands of American workers to lose their jobs? The Boeing tanker was fine, the parameters changed. This was all political.

2. My preference would be |
|
that Boeing got the deal. Their plane falls short by 20% in most performance categories. What about the 25000 new jobs created in the US by this deal?

5. So we should therefore |
|
buy an inferior plane? Boeing's bid was lower. The US went with the better plane.

6. Stop with the kneejerk reactions. |

The Boeing design was inferior to the design that EADS and Northrop Grumman (An American Aerospace firm) fielded. The Air Force was more interested in that design from the beginning. Boeing is crying because they've been on top of the pile for so long they got over confident.
There will also be NO lost jobs at Boeing. They are backed up with orders for their new civilian airliners. As a matter of fact, they are HIRING right now.
EADS is also building a final assembly plant in Alabama, creating jobs there. They have also agreed to build a SECOND assembly plant in Alabama to build the cargo version of their A330.
